Get with the times man. Those so called "do dads" are exactly the reason I'm leaning towards getting rid of my 08Z to get the C7. I'll never track the car so I want all the tech goodies and luxuries I can't get. The car is still light by the way.

OP- is your C6 a 1LT? What options do you have on it?

Did it have all the doo dads and gimmicks that Cadillacs had of that era? NOPE. So why have them now? I'm looking over all the crap they are piling on C7 digital screens push button this push button that, and of course LUGGAGE!! LUGGAGE seriously? If I want a go fast sports car I can go to Cadillac and buy one with every option known to man and still be able to have a Corvette engine under the hood if I need that sort of thing. If I want a go fast track car with nothing on it but a nice set of seats and a big motor where do I go? Its just not made anymore. GM Give Cadillac there XLR back and give us an AFFORDABLE Corvette thats FAST and a BLAST to drive and I bet no one will notice the video displays the onStar and seat heaters are missing. Lighten it up Lesson the content make it affordable and sell the hell out of it! Thats what the 1953 vision was all about!
So do you just sit around and think up every possible negative scenario and then post about it? And for what purpose? You must be very bored. You really need to get a life.

I ordered a new 2002 coupe with base trim; and just one option... the transparent roof panel. Stickered just below 41,000.

It didn't have the sport seats, didn't have a HUD, didnt have dual climate controls, didn't have the CD changer, didn't have magnetic select suspension; and had the painted rims

I kept the car for 11 years - and love every minute behind the wheel.

I've already spec'd a C7; a 1LT with transparent roof panel. I will have no shame in owning that car; and at the same time have appreciation of those that could afford a fully loaded 3LT version.

I find life more enjoyable when being positive and around positive people. The OP seems to want to drag us down into his pit of negativity. Imagine going through life that way

1LT is the ONLY way to order a Corvette, The rest are Cadillacs IMO.

My C6 is a 1 LT. I get that it would be fun to be able to order a true base car and then add to it only what you wanted but those days are gone.

They did? Yet they haven't led anything in a long time.

I think it is market driven. I ordered at Z06 in 2009 and specifically did not want NAV because it wasn't great and you could get a portable one that was better for cheaper.

When I went to sell it, I was amazed at how many people were turned away because it did not have NAV.

Just one question, do you want to get out of your car everytime you want to open the garage door?

Times change.

On a side note, I think HomeLink should be standard equipment.

I think that is what some of the complainers do. They sit around trying to figure out a way to find something new to complain about or make duplicate complaints but just worded differently.

Every bit of that rings true to this day.
I'm not sure this is as true as it used to be. Ford and their Mustang lineup
are offering so good bang-for-the-buck cars now.

Stop whining and go get yourself the Ariel Atom. That's what you want, leave the Corvette as it is, it's a great car.
