The Vert looks alot better than the coupe...

I have never in my life seen a convertible that looked even as good as (let alone better than) its coupe counterpart. And this C7 is no exception.

I agree with you . People will ask me why I don't always have the top down. I like the look from the side rear angle as much with the top up as I do down but it is great when you want that option to drop the top and enjoy that open air ride. Nothing like it.

I was driving around yesterday with the top down. It was 40 degrees here but not raining or anything, people were looking at me CRAZY
It's so funny because all you need to do is turn on the heater and the seats and it's just like Summertime
LOL...some people will never understand the convertible lifestyle

I guess you touched a nerve because occasionally there are people who say the same thing----and mean it.
I drove and rode around in some of those C2 coupes and it was a great experience but not so great behind the wheel. And the heat trapped inside . A/C eventually helped since the old Harrison or Frigidaires were good. In that respect, the convertible was better and I enjoyed it more.
I'd put it this way: a lot of people do buy the Corvette convertible to use it for weekends and WITHOUT significant space some would go for another car. I know my C6 convertible has sufficient space for quite a bit of luggage, unlike 5.3 cu. ft. of the Miata, or some other cars.
At one time later in its production years, the C1 Corvette came as a convertible that you could buy without a soft top, just a full-size hardtop, or no top (I think). But it was still a "roadster" in that it wasn't built as a coupe. That extended into the C2 "Stingrays" but by then, I believe a soft top came with a convertible. I'm sure there were removable hard tops for the C3 and C4 (which I've seen on the cars) and maybe even for the C5s.
BTW, are these shots of the C7 convertible actually artist renderings? If so, could it still be slightly different in person---since I see those "vents" missing from the top of the rear fenders?
I was just having a little fun Larry, sorry. Sitting at my desk on a Friday bored out of my mind and I actually laughed out loud when I posted that, thought for sure I would create a bigger stink then I did. I really like the look of this vert like most of us that posted here its awesome and I think even better then the coupe. Sorry to anyone I insulted I didn't mean it just spicing up my day a little

There is a good reason for that. I owned a brand new 63 split window that I traded after only 6 months for a 64 convert that was far nicer to drive and then a new 67 AC coupe to see if air made it better.
The C2 coupes were noisy, hot in the summer even with AC and the rear visibility was horrible on the 63 slit window. I ended up getting rid of the 67 AC coupe after a short time and traded it for a 68 convert in the fall of 67 and was much happier. The C2 coupes were a novelty and looked cool but they were horrible to spend any amount of time actually driving in them.

Now that's what a Corvette should look like --- what a difference from the hardtop --- and the chrome wheels really improve the look. But I've owned Corvettes since 1984 and they have always been convertibles. The only thing I don't like is the chrome bar in the grill, but I'm sure there will be an easy mod to change that look. I love the look of the convertible --- I'm hooked !!!
