Well, $1,050,000 is a lot of money for a $60,000 Corvette.

That was quick. I'm guessing they already knew Rick was gonna get it and he was gonna pay a million, just like the ZR1.

The Batmobile took a lot of time and air out of the room.

That car is gorgeous!!!! Oh my Gawd it's hot!! Like a broken record and sorry but I have not wanted a car this bad ever (that I can afford).

Also that black on rear is awesome!!

That was fun! Hope he enjoys the first.

What a great place to help bring it out to the AZ/international car buying public!! They got to see it most of the day and then get sold on national tv. Good stuff.

WRONG....had my blood pressure up for a sec
Actually,I was exactly correct. The auction was for the rights to purchase VIN #1,as I stated. Not the C7 that was there which is the show car going around the country. Time for blood pressure medication?

Sorry it is not $1,050,000.00 incredible. Even tough it will be the very first retailed production Corvette produced, I don't see it ever been worth that money as a collector car. These auction only accomplish one thing and that is turn the car collector hobby in to an elite form of entertainment.

Actually Hendrick has an extensive collection. Gorden had nothing to do with that purchase. That was a car to go into the Hendrick collection. Gordon was there to sell one of the #24 cars and a special street car for a charity.

I know they were sell the rights to buy the first retail production car VIN 0001, but I always thought that the first production car would go the the GM heritage museum. The test cars that have been running around with all the coverings will be destroyed, so maybe it is the two cars that made the official unveiling that will end up in the museum.

Default Bowling Green Museum

Let's hope the red C7 makes it to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, where we can all view it...

As for 001, I can't imagine a better home than with a NASCAR giant, and owner of 150 other Corvette treasures, Rick Hendricks.

His NASCAR team is likely the stable of the most winners in NASCAR history, and in Chevy sponsored cars.

Way to go Rick...

Good charity, and a great place for 001 to reside.

To all my Porsche and Ferrari loving friends, my only comment, like in 1776, " the Americans are coming, the Americans are coming, and the Europeans are about to get kicked off the continent, again."

Just kidding, obviously, both Porsche and Ferrari make fine automobiles, BUT, the C7 Stingray has arrived, and she will take no prisoners

Rick and his team was hanging around the GM all day ... I think it was cut and dried that he was going to get it ... who was the person that bid forcing the end to $1.05M? I'll bet someone from B-J's shut him up in a hurry.

By the way,,, has someone YouTubed the auction yet?

I missed the Corvette auction but wonder if it went anything like the Bat Mobile auction?

Off subject, but did anyone hear the guy who bought the Bat Mobile say he was going to put it in his living room? Geesh.

Here's the link to the actual Barret Jackson sale...
