Why no Automatics?

You would think with over 2/3 of vettes sold as automatics GM would have made sure to upgrade the transmission. You guys should be happy we automatic drivers buy corvettes. Think of what the price would be if GM sold only 1/3 of the amount they do

Safety Car
Auto vs. Manual debate? Such a rare sighting around this forum.
OP, my DD is a manual (Focus st) and my Vette was an Auto. You aren't missing a thing. If I get a C7, it will be AT (hopefully an updated/more modern version).

my previous car that I had to my "new" vette was an auto with the tetronic shifting. I thought I would like that option for normal everyday driving I could be in auto mode but when I was in the hills or autoxing I could be in manual mode.....best of both worlds right? WRONG! the computer controlled the tranny so much that it would not allow me to down shift quick enough to be able to launch out of a corner especially in autoxing. I would come into a corner braking hard and try to shift back down to 1st to launch out of the hole but it kept me in 2nd then coming out of the hole I was ******* it just to try to build speed back up! IMO it has to be a manual if you really intend to DRIVE your car! if you intend to sit in traffic all day and look good doing it then fine get an auto

I can drive a manual transmission and it is not all that great. I live in a high traffic area and having to constantly shift up and down blows.
Ignore those that claim a sports car should only be stick. They are just closed minded fools. Get the car that way you want and you will love to drive it, regardless of the transmission.
I have done multi-hour stints in stick shift cars for races and it is over rated. The first few laps are fun, but once the laps start ticking off, it gets old fast. I would rather focus my attention on getting around the corner perfectly and not getting taken out by another driver than worry about heel toe maneuvers.

Lamborghini and Ferrari have both completely STOPPED making 6 speed manuals. 2014 is the last year you can order a 6 speed gallardo.
I am SO THANKFUL that my current, and next corvette, will be a manual as well.
Keep the F1 trannies, dual clutches, e-gear for the racers, I'm just pretending.
