I agree, there will be a lot of new vette bandwagoners All the people who are in the ignorant fast and furious generation will come in hoards.

I think that globally, it could happen in a few years. I just don't see that number being attained just in NA alone any time real soon.

The economy is fine. Certainly a million times better than it was in late '07 - early '08, a full year b4 Obama was inaugurated.

The problem is that the middle class has been on a steep decline since Bush II. The world is just different and US society is becoming more stratified than ever before. That's not good for car sales over $30K.

Default Nice car for $300,000

Why have they not announced their Corvette product line? They ought to know by now if they will have a base, a mid and a high speed version or just the base and one high speed version wouldn't you think, and the details of them?

Something does not strike me as right and the idea of selling c7's at a rate of annually 40,000 seems like more than a real stretch to me.

Very nice car for $300,000...

C7 Stingray, nicer car for $60,000...

Then you can start talking ongoing maintenance...

Porsche is in a similar situation, both cost wise and maintenance.

Hard times have whacked North America and Europe.

The days of $300,000 cars are over.

Long live the C7 Stingray...

at one point you could get a base C6 for 38K. If it comes in at that number it will sell like hotcakes. At 55K the younger buyers are mostly out and anything above leaves only the rich buying the car.

I expect a higher price lower volume car that is in higher demand. It will exact a small profit and be a little more exclusive than before, which is a good thing.

Exactly! And when you look all over the world, you see liberalism screws up everything it touches. Yet the far-left wrongly escape blame, largely because of today's corrupt media & failing education system.

Apparently it's much more important nowadays to be in control of messaging, than to actually have logical & honest policy that fixes problems.

1. Economy is flat, with high unemployment and no real effort to stimulate growth.
2. Taxes and withholding are up, disposable income is down.
3. Another Debt ceiling is just around the corner. The liberals just cannot contain their spending, which sooner or later will lead to serious inflation.
4. Now they're coming for your guns, which some say may lead to civil unrest.
5. A general Obamalaise is permeating the nation.

Happy New Year! Rickman
We need the moderators to step in or this thread will be highjacked by the right wingers. I think this C7 will sell more than the C6.

I think the "want" for the C7 will be high. With that said, I still highly doubt we will see 40,000 + being made per year anytime soon, if ever. 2008 has changed much! One need only look at the past 4 years of Corvette sales that have been the lowest in 50 years!
These low sales in spite of huge discounts, rebates and incentives.

I seriously believe it was not entirely the economy and more the need for a complete redesign. C5/C6 had their time and I personally think C5 was a credit to GM in the day and it blew my mind when I first saw it and had to have it. But that was many years ago and C6 was not a big enough departure from C5. That's just the way it is.

I am not a physic but I really do think this C7 is the best looking modern Vette yet. We will be patient until end of year two to make a judgement but it might become the best selling Vette yet.

Those I have shown pictures and videos to love it. I know I'm on cloud 9.

stock market, is at an all time high, people have made big gains on the market since Obama came to power. They arent coming for your guns. They only want sensible gun control, no different than lots of other things that have at least some sensible guidelines. Or are high powered assault rifles more important than precious children now. If it wasnt for the spending to stimulate things the economy would have gone into a full blown depression. The nation is lucky to have such a good president now. Under Clinton the tax rate was as it is now. Under Clinton, the nation had incredible prosperity. Bush put america into all those wars, and spent like crazy racking up huge deficits

I wish every years economy was like this years. My investments did so well that I can buy a C 7 and have just as much money left as I had in January 2012. I am not alone in my investment success.

100% right. These guys who are complaining are still living in the past few years and havent accepted that the economy is tons better in a number of ways. Housing starting to perk up, the stock market more than doubled, and things are looking better. They need to work on getting the deficit down, which the President it trying to do now.
