Default Curb weight of the C7?

Anyone know, exactly? And did I hear right? The basic model would only have 450 Horsepower? Thanks.

GM is totally silent on curb weight so far and is only "estimating" at least 450/450 until certification and testing.

"...when Chevrolet announces the official weight figures later this year, expect a slight INCREASE over the C6's 3208 pounds."

Regardless, simple weight figures dont mean much...it comes down to how its distributed. 3300 is still damn light for a modern sports car. With the torque curve of variable cam timing, this car will be a mover.

People need to learn to look beneath the surface. Peak hp numbers mean nothing, simple curb weight numbers dont tell the whole story, skinnier tires dont mean as much in the world of newly advanced compounds, etc. this car changes rules, and requires people to change their thinking. The performance numbers will speak for themselves. If it smokes everybody...who cares what those figures are vs any prior vette or compared to anything else. It all comes down to the performance facts....which we dont have yet...period.

*IF* it's getting heavier (we'll find out soon enough); it also appears to be getting:

Faster,
Stiffer,
Better handling,
Better fuel economy,
Better interior quality

... I can live with it
