Will the flagship model (Z06, ZR1) include an auto tranny?
I mean, as long as they are embracing new technology and space age concepts....isn't it about time to stop the discrimination? All the major players in the exotic supercar categories feature autos. I have nothing against manuals per say, but I'm not able to use a clutch (old war injury....long story). I have never understood the manual only concept in the Z06, and especially the ZR1. C'mon GM, we need a PDK like tranny!!! At least give us the option.....

No word on a Z06 or ZR1 in the C7 line up that I am aware of. But I do agree with you on the automatic. I am sure that they can design an automatic for the performance car. In fact I think that there are C6 Callaways running the automatic.

An auto Z06 just sounds wrong to me. When they develop a proper dual clutch and have it ready, a considerable option, but from what I've heard that's a ways out. But a straight up auto? I truly hope not.

Yes, there are. My real estate agent has a ragtop. Even with the A6, I felt like I was being launched from a catapault. Absolute monster off the line.

The CTS-V and Camaro ZL1 have the option of an automatic iirc, so it should be possible.

If you look at the pics from one of the IP configurations, it shows both trans temp and boost next to each other. That leads me to believe the answer is yes.

No one is saying this needs to be an Automatic only. We simply want options and one of those options is to be able to choose the Automatic tranny ...

No, unless its some sort of dct which I think we can count on showing up later. If i wanted a reg auto id just stick with the base model. Zr1/Z06 deserves better stick or dct only.

I'm with you a dual clutch is needed. A standard auto would be quite lame. However I would love if GM held onto the manual in the higher models unlike the GTR did.
