I agree, but i still LOVE my torch red '12. And is it me or does the c7 have a gas cap on both the driver and passenger side...

Exactly! Stop comparing it to a Z06/ZR1. This thing is the BASE car. The Base C6 is a joke [sorry owners]. This will be, for sure, my third generation of Z06 when it comes around.

The rear shot is a manipulated [flipped] image. Look at the spelling of Corvette on the bumper. Good eye though.

I also agree.

The problem is that we are so used to seing c6 with the wide bodies and big tires we forget.

This pics makes the c6 look dated.

the new car looks simply fantastic from front to back. Plus when you show it with the older car, the older car looks just that, Old.

Had to flip the first C7 to keep the perspectives correct.

Great effort comparing old and new designs, thanks!
I like the new design and think the progress made for the base model Corvette is quite impressive now.

looks like the C7 sits a little lower than the C6. i wonder how the C6 would look if it would be lowered a tad . no doubt of a big difference 9 years make!!

I wouldn't call the C6 old, they are currently still building them. The C7 is the latest, unfortunately can't get one yet. C6 is still a great car and we will have to ruff it until the C7 is available.

I love my C6 and I think they did a great job on the C7. I dont feel mine is boring at all and will reserve more how I feel until I see one in person.

I have owned Corvettes for the last 16 years (and I am 38) so we will see if there is a C7 in my future.

Keep telling yourself that, most people outside the Corvette world think all the C6's look the same and cant tell the base from a Z. Your Z looks as much of a joke (sorry) as the base C6.

when the new ferrari f 12 berlinetta came out, I thought it was the most beautiful new car in the world. What a car I thought. When I look at that silver edition of the c7, it approaches in my mind, the look of that ferrari for a couple hundred thousand dollars less. Thats amazing to me. I think im tired of all the bad comments about GM being govt motors, or that they just build crap. There were a lot of guys who put everything they had into this car. You could see the emotion on their faces when they revealed the new car. You could tell they worked hard on it and were proud. I for one think they did a great job. Its still a vette, and looks like a vette, but it also looks 21st century, modern, and hot as hell. I personally think they are going to sell this new car like crazy. All you have to do is look at the beginning of this thread, to compare the c6 to the c7. yes the c6 was and is a nice car. But I think the c7 is a tremendous effort from a great team.

Let's see the same angles of the C6 Grand Sport for comparison. I personally don't think we'll ever see a body style version different from the 'Base' C7.

The C6 Grand Sport body was a unique GM response to the '08 crisis, when GM killed/postponed the development of a new Corvette at that time. So they came out with a Z06-looking version of the 'Base' with some other enhancements to support sales.

But there was never an enhanced body version of the C5. And the C4 stayed basically the same too, except for the minimal plastic flares on the GS and the ZR1.

The C6 ZR1 is not a big seller, so why would GM make another one... That's likely done. My guess is that any C7Z07 will likely look very similar to the 'Base', but slightly wider tires and some kind of hood and graphics treatment - otherwise, the C7 we have the same look we can expect across performance models too. That's been more of GM's long-term pattern.

Don't get me wrong I like the C6 (I may even buy one) but the C6 will always be a C5.5.

The C7 is all new and it shows.
