Default The real issue I see with the C7

The real issue I see with the new car is how it is definitely built around the driver and the passenger was just an after thought.

I would love to drive this car but I don't think I would want to sit in that passenger seat. Look at the overhead photos and you can clearly see, this car was built for the driver, all of the gauges and gadgets are tilted towards the driver. The passenger gets a clear view of two air vents.

That grab handle clearly cuts the passenger off even further. Even the two tone color is more pronounced for the driver.

Reminds me of constantly watching a big screen tv from a side angle, you might see the picture but the view is not the same as sitting directly in front of it.

So what? Passenger should be happy to be along for a ride! I would expect the controls/gauges to be driver oriented. This is not a co-pilot assisted vehicle.

You guys must be running out of things to complain about. This is absurd.

Tell that to your wife and see how many long trips you take together. Like I said, I would love to drive it, but hate to be the passenger.

The Ferrari 458 has an almost identical passenger experience, I can assure you it is still a very pleasant place to stay.

The real issue with C7 is its making 450 HP out of a 6.2 liter motor with DI and VVT. Super lame.

Like I said I would love to own one, would drive the wheels off of it but wouldn't want to spend much time staring at those two air vents. At least let me see what radio station we are listening to.

I agree. Last week I happened to have the misfortune of walking behind four teenage girls on my way to the movies. All these girls talked about was clothes. They were criticizing the attire of one of their friends: her shoes, dress, and coat. Although I only had to follow them for about five minutes, it seemed interminable. So now I log on to the corvette forum and I see precisely the same behavior. Substitute C7 for clothes and the behavior is identical.

I do have some reservations about the new C7 design but, honestly, this wouldn't be one of them.

The only thing a passenger should be doing is sit down, shut up, and hang on.

What an idiot. First, if you are my passenger, do not touch anything except me. Any passenger who stares at the dash board while riding is a moron. Sane passengers look out the window or look at me. End of story.

I wanted so bad to buy one so I could just ride in the passenger seat. Not now!
Thanks for the heads up. That was a close one

My M Coupe does the same thing, having the center console angled towards the driver so it's easier for the driver to see and use. I have yet to have a passenger complain or even notice this unless I point it out.

I don't see how this is a bad thing. Driver operates the car.

Not to mention, I bet if the picture was taken directly above the center armrest instead of over the passenger seat, the difference would look much less substantial.

He has a point. When this VERY SAME dash design was introduced in 1990 there were complaints of this very issue. In 1994 they removed the partition between driver and passenger and opened it up and it looked much better. I guess Chevy has a short memory.

Instrumention best be aimed at the guy whose driving AND paying, is all I can say.

OTOH if a rider doesn't like their view?
They're welcome to get out & walk, or pee in their shoes & float to their destination.

My gripes concerning the new C7 are minimal, confined to performance.
After 2014, when the warranty on my Z06 runs out, there should be an optional HP upgrade. Then I'll have a decision to make.

In the merantime for all who've put down a deposit, the wait begins.
I'm sure the car will meet & exceed expectations.
