Disappointed
30 here, and I owned a blown C6.
Overall, I am disappointed. I am joining a lot of others in saying the rear is ugly or doesnt fit the car. If I wanted lights that look similar to another GM product, I'd buy that product. The corvette should be unique and have its own styling.
I am partially disappointed in the performance. I was hoping it would be substantially better than a ZL1, but right now, the 0 to 60 times are about the same. Of course the Corvette is better handling, but it also costs more.
No recaros? No 6l90e transmission? No loss in weight?
Im not going to say they lost a sale, but I will definitely be more inclined to check out the competition before purchasing.

I'm 33 and own a 2008 Coupe and 2013 Boxster. I must say that I had my reservations. When that car rolled out I was already working out a time table for a 2015 purchase in my head. I want to see the final specs, but I think I'm sold. The exposed carbon fiber looks sick! I hate black wheels, but that red with black wheels looked real nice.

I'm 35 and have had 2 Corvettes. My first was a 2006 VY Z51 coupe I bought new and on my birthday. I was in shock that I actually owned a Corvette. The following year, I traded it in on a 2007 VY Z06. I couldnt believe I owned and was driving the baddest Vette. Now, I'm vetteless. I traded in my Z06 this past June for an SVT Raptor. I also did it because I was anticipating the arrival of the C7 and wanted to sell it while the market was hot. I got amazing money for it. NOW, I'm ready to get a C7. I dont necessarily need the High performance version(atleast not yet), but I'm DEFINITELY getting a new C7. Its gorgeous to me. I love every millimeter of it.

31 here got my first in '11. I love what I saw. I'm gonna enjoy my C6 drop this summer and look into a lease next year likely.
Shout out to the younger Vette owners in here. I dreamed of one in my 20s but you guys accomplished it.
A great Vette moment that I will never forget took place tonight

Had many cars from 300zx, Supra's, c5z, gtr, 911, etc.
Overall, it looks nice. At first glance .... the interior looks great. Looking for more info on the electronics.
Very disappointed that the base did not get the a bump to 500+hp / Ft labs.
I dislike the smaller tires...would of rather the base pick up the gs/z06 sizes.
I strongly dislike the tail lights.
But... as long as the base price does not increase it appears to be a winner.

35 year old multiple Vette owner. I also currently own several other performance cars such as a Nissan Z32, Viper, 911, Miata etc. Currently have a C6Z as a DD. LOVE the new C7. I will try and wait it out for the performance version since I know I will sell the base C7 to buy it. I did that with the C6. I bought a C6 and then sold my 2005 to buy the 2006 C6Z. I'm going to hold out this time and since I'm keeping my C6Z, it should not be that hard of a wait.

I thought the Z06 was a bit too boy racer. So the C7 with that rear end just does not work for me yet. I have to see it in person before I decide.
The interior looks great and perfect for this era.

31 overall I like it. I am glad that the older crowd may not like it.
I never liked the base C6 design, thought it wasn't new enough in the looks department till the C6Z came along.
Now the question will be in 2 more years if I can afford a new C7 or will the prices of a C6Z be too good to pass up.

This is an excellent post and right along the lines of what i have been thinking.
Im 37 and grew up in a family that always had muscle cars. Well...this is not my fathers Stingray nor my 2009 Z06!!! And i think that was the intent of GM. They went retro with the Camaro and have gone more exotic with the C7.
Just my opinion but i think this styling will draw some of the German tuner crowds and what not. This car does not look muscle to me or mean. It looks sleek and fast, more exotic.
Interior is a win from what i can see. Exterior...as of right now i prefer the Z06 wide look with rounded curves. Might change once i see the C7 in person.
My only question is...at 50K+...and the current economy...how many 20-30 year olds will have the ability to buy? If GM's target sales are 30K units a year, that could be tough. Will be interesting to see how it works out.

I was hoping it would get me as excited as I was from the C5 to the C6. I hated the C5 and instantly wanted a C6 when it debuted.
The C7 rear-end seems odd. I don't care at all about round or square tail lights...the rear just seems like it's missing something or has too much of something...can't quite put my finger on it. Love it from a head-on view.

I to have reservations about the rear end and will HAVE to see one in person to see if it truly appeals to me.

I am 23. Huge classic corvette guy. don't care much for c5/6 unless its a z. This is absolutely gorgeous. I love the car. I do kinda wish they didn't do those tailights. But not a deal breaker and dont know what round taillights would look like on it nayway.

I'm 32.
I don't own a Corvette. Have wanted one since I was 10 but have not been able to afford one until the last few years and have been waiting to see this first. The C5 is still the measuring stick for me, as I was 16 when I first saw it and fell in love with it.
Given the release timetable of the convertible and NE winters I will probably buy a 2nd year model.

Age is 29. I currently drive a 2006 BMW M3, so that is my benchmark.
Overall, I think the exterior styling is a huge improvement. It has some elements of the upcoming BMW 4-series coupe on the side air vents, and Porsche in the front due to the Stingray inspiration.
Unfortunately, the back end is still classic Corvette. It looks like somebody accidentally backed into a stop light. However, I'd say the C7 is an improvement over the C6 in the rear end department.
The Corvette is fast. It always has been. I'm not worried about that. My concern is if GM can get the handling right. The C6 Corvette was a major let down in the handling department compared to BMW and Porsche. The ride was cushy like a damn Buick, and the steering felt like they stuffed cotton ***** in the bushings. I felt like GM was targeting this thing to the 50+ crowd that wanted their Corvette to ride like a Cadillac or a Buick. You folks who have never driven a BMW M3 or a Porsche 911 don't know what I'm talking about.
If GM can get the handling right this time, given the nice C7 styling, I will seriously consider a 2014 Corvette over a 2009 CPO Porsche 911 Carrera S.
I really hope I can buy an American sports car. That would be nice from a monetary and patriotic stand point. But can GM do something right? Can they be trusted not to completely f--k up something critical? I sure hope so!

33 years old and I loved what I saw today! The renderings and the leaked Road and Track drawings did not do this car justice! Will get one in Spring 2014 (after the winter)
