this interior is more interesting and just screams POWER, you can practically smell the danger and unburnt hydrocarbons..the C7 looks like a vending machine that emits skim milk

First it is not 14HP higher. They clearly said 450hp was the target. They said 450 was an estimate. Secondly you compared it against the dual mode exhaust in the C6 versus the base exhaust on the C7 which only flows 13% more than the C6 exhaust. The dual mode exhaust on the C7 flows 26% more than the C6 exhaust and will be higher performing. I guess you didn't read the press release. So it is at least 20 more hp.

Wow guys, give the guy a break he is just expressing his opinion. Everyone is entitled to it. My .02 is that I still like my z06, I'll still need to see what GM will do with the z06 or zr1. I do not like the rear of the C7. I do like the interior.

The more I learn about the C7, the more I think the OP might be right unless GM is still being conservative with their numbers (which is very possible). I mean right now it sounds like this car is going to offer us something close to C6 Grand Sport performance for something close to C6 Grand Sport price.
... Really? We wait nearly a decade, and that's the best they could do? It seems like a completely lateral move.
But again, hopefully these numbers are still early and conservative.
I do very much like the estimated gas mileage, the interior design, and the exterior design, though. So that's several major points in favor of the C7.

This is a C7 ?
Not too crazy about this. But I wonder if it's a 'Flex-Fuel' vehicle ?

I like it. I would like to see what the convertible's profile will be like.
To the OP, in my experience of creating things that are faster, better, cheaper - you never accomplish more than 2 out of three of those.

I also like some of the things it has..but like you said..lateral move. All the other sports car companies are going higher and higher, with more ridiculous power and speed, its a second muscle car era in case some people havent noticed, an international one too. The C7 just seems like its not going to be heard above the insane fray out there...unless the numbers are just way better than we expect....the C6 was a ROAR that started this muscle car era off in 2004...

i dont blame them for reacting..im reacting too...i think people who really LOVE the C7 are not the ones saying im a troll....i think they know there is a kernel of truth in what im saying

GM has to clear the C 6 inventory . You would have a revolt from the Chevy dealers council if a base C7 outperfomed the C6 Z06 or GS at thousands less when the latter are sitting on their lots. Or GMwould have to put so much hood and trunk money to sell them that current loyal Z06 / GS owners would see an additinal overnight $ 15 K drop in their trade in values as a result.
Ask their current owners here what they think about that ?

the 2013 mustang GT500 msrp is $54k and it has 662hp with an 11.4s 1/4 mile..again..the C7 should have at least 500hp in the base model. yes its not a corvette, but shouldnt the new corvette at least be raising the bar A LITTLE out there?
shouldnt it be faster than the latest mustang like it was before?
