People are hard of hearing...wtf!
They said FRAME is 99lbs lighter and they said 450hp ESTIMATED...
I imagine the engine hasn't undergone SAE certification yet...

Yes, he did. They removed 99 lbs from the structure, they didn't say how much they removed from the roof and the hood by going with Carbon Fiber. They also didn't say how much they might have reduced the weight of the interior components. Current base car weighs around 3175 so we might see less than 3100 lbs when all the additions (Brembo brakes weigh more) and subtractions are totaled together.

The tech is good, the look....I think they could've done a bit more "intro" for the interior. of course, that's such a subjective thing. It also sounds like some of the items, most likely performance, are still being worked on prior to all out production.

The lightweight elements of the Stingray contribute to the ideal 50/50 weight balance. Combined
with its estimated 450 horsepower (335 kW), the new Corvette delivers a better power-to-weight
ratio than the Porsche 911 Carrera or Audi R8.

They're also making comparisons to the base coupe's steel frame - making it more on par with the Z06/ZR1 aluminum frames.
Will be interesting to see how the actual specs turn out. They even compared it's track capabilities to the performance version: the Grand Sport.
I think the current Z06 will still be more capable until the C7 "Z07" comes out in a few years.

As others said 99 pounds from the structure(frame) and 57% stiffer. So 99 instead of 136 pounds lighter between the C6 steel and aluminum frames.
How does the stiffness compare to other sprots cars now?
450hp and 450 lb/ft were the targets for the engine; and migher mileage.

I love the fact that they made the car that much stiffer. Sounds like it is built like a brick s**t house. I'll bet that thing is going to be a pleasure to drive.

If you read the press release Kerbeck posted it clearly says 99 lbs out of the FRAME
37 from the BODY
and several pounds saved here and there....looks liked they saved a ton of weight, they just didn't do a great job of explaining that in the presentation
