Fastest BONE STOCK, manually shifted, C7 Proto Lap at the Ring...7:34.783
Bone stock, purchased and not touched. No oil change, no tires. Manually shifted with a G27 setup, with clutch enabled, no traction control, no abs, driven with in-car view.
I was actually surprised at this lap. With my earlier laps being high 7:36's, I had to really push to get a 7:35.xxx. With a best of 7:35.xxx, I found myself trying to drive the wheels off of it to scrape into the 7:34's. I then had to coach myself back into the fundamentals...smoother is faster and remember to breathe.
I went into a much more "zen" place and felt my pace was fast to the carousel, then felt I was a little slow to the straight. I would consider this lap beyond reality, in the sense, I am REALLY pushing the car and using every piece of track.
My settings do have a high loss of adhesion off track, so as to force myself to be careful. As with any off track in reality, you don't "steer" back on the track, you kind of ease your way back. I did have two wheels off, but it was a valid lap.
Any of you other GT5'ers that drive this track but can't achieve this time...I left data up for you. Smoothness is key, getting straight quickly is key so you can get back in the throttle or jump on full brakes, and modulating the power to get big exit speeds are key. Look far ahead and look at your apex...dont' drive the nose of the car. Also remember, it's not always the lowest gear that is best...sometimes driving in a higher gear to eliminate a shift, as well as have less loss of traction, is better.
Edit: To elaborate a tad further...I have a 7:33 in me for sure...but its DAMN tough
Additional Edit: Using the timing marks that OEM's use, this 7:34.xxx would be in the 7:31.xxx range, if you look closely, you can see me cross white lines right after the last turn...that's the finish time marks.

Why...Forza is gay compared to GT5...lol. Only thing they have, as agreed by the rest of the world, is a little better sound. Graphics don't compare, physics don't compare....GT5 works with OEM's all the time...it's a match....
