You are going to hear 50 times how they missed a line here, and a slight curve there

I'll bet there are people on here who still think we haven't seen the real thing

Yes they were on it, no doubt.

And I would imagine that GM/Chevrolet was (and still is) quite pissed off about it too.
Truth is, I think them posting those renderings over a year ago kind of knocked the wind out of the sails of this car for a lot of people.
I do like the car a lot and all but I'd rather have been more shocked/surprised when it was actually finally revealed versus having sort of known what it was going to look like 14 months ago.

When did Jalopnik first release their drawing of the C7?

Remember the denials from GM afterwards? Once we saw the Omega Tool leak it was obvious Jalopnik had nailed it.

My guess is those leaks are orchestrated by GM to get people conditioned to what they are going to see. I think even more people would be saying they don't like this design if they had not been exposed to it a little at a time.

I didnt like the Jalopnik rendering then and i still dont.

Seeing pictures of the car though and watching the reveal last night does make it look a lot better. Cant wait to see it in person.

Exactly, unless someone wanted them to get that close....

I see it another way. So many people are involved in designing and then building a new car, and there is so much excitement around a new Corvette, how could they keep it secret? Even a year ago there were hundreds of GM employees, and hundreds of employees at subcontractors, with access. All it takes is one person to leak it.

I don't believe it, this is all a lie and a giant marketing scam between Jalopnik and GM going back 5 years in planning. The REAL C7 will debut next week and have round taillights!!
