GM can offer it, but it won't be in my carport.

Ed Welburn said in that video posted a few days ago that he does not like the matte finishes because it looks "unfinished" and has a primer look to it.
I hope they at least have a few new high energy exciting colors. If they're targeting the younger crowd they need some colors that catch peoples attention.
At first i thought about saying No... But thinking about it a little more maybe it would be ok to have the option of a few matte colors... Heck, the more that is offered maybe that would get more people to buy. And that would be good for the Corvette.
Some cars look good with the matte colors, like the Lambos. Its something different than the normal colors and thats probly a good thing...
I guess we'll have to wait until Sunday to see the real C7 and think about what the real car would look like with a matte finish.

Might be ok for the "drivers" but it would drive the "waxers" crazy trying to achieve the best possible gloss on a matte finish....

I think if GM were inclined to put their paint capabilities on display, they would start with a SEMA car, and if there was enough actual I'd-buy-one interest, they'd offer a special edition with $5K worth of stripes and stitching. And they'd wait until there was a product lull and they needed some press attention. Maybe 2017 for the 65th Anniversary.
But I doubt the fad will last that long.
If you think that look is sharp, be prepared to pony up the bucks for custom paint.

I wonder what satin-finish deep purple would look like...

When I bought my Harley they offered a matte finish as an option and I did not care for it. Not sure how it would look if GM ever offered it. And not sure how I would feel about it if they did.

Maybe if it was black, matte white can look good sometimes as well, really depends on the angles of the car. I will be happy as long as they don't slap on lots of tacky chrome which makes cars look cheap.

Looked at a matte silver finished M3 several years ago and the first thought I had was how do you care for the finish so it looks good. It was an aggressive track look, unique at the time for me, but has since worn off IMO. If it is offered now on a C7 I think it will be too late to the party. But as a special order paint code order, why not for those who want it such as in silvers to black.
The only thing equivalent but ugly as heck to me was those iridescent colors offered several years ago by GM.
Similar looking to this.

I think the paint shop in Bowling Green has a limited palette of colors they can spray. Unless they could spin a matte clear over an existing color, I don't know that they could even do it.
But if they could it would be a helluva way to make people look twice at a Corvette. I can think of few things that would more visually and dynamically say - this is a completely different Corvette than your old man drove.
For those who want it though, there are plenty of vinyl wrap options in satin and matte.
