Default MT Magazine Says Stingray May Be 'Entry Model' with 5.5L, & 3.6L V6 Is Coming Too!

Sounds like the Corvette is on the path to smaller and smaller engines for sake of fuel economy.

Maybe C7 fans SHOULD by the new 6.2L base model, as the engines may get smaller and smaller after that...

Oil is renewable. At what rate? No one knows, but we have about 300years before we have to worry about it. So I say, bring on the cubes!!

Guys - it's called a newsstand. Go getcha a copy. As for scanning a copy of a page, look at how out of date my avatar is - a C5, when I now have a C6 - posting pics is not my specialty.

Article Title: "Save The V8s"

Sub-Head: "The Future of the Corvette Small Block"

Sub-Head II: "C7 Beyond the LT1"

...the article goes on to say the future Z06 may be renamed the Z07, with an engine smaller than the current 7.0L

(I bought my copy a few days ago.)

I don't believe it for a second. Tadge said the consensus was for V-8 in the C-7 and I believe it will stay that way for the entire run.

When they put a V6 in the Vette, it'll be the same day Porsche puts a 4 cylinder in the 911.

They actually did, in 1965 to 1969 and called it the 912.

Of course, that was just a few years after the Corvette was introduced with a Blue Flame 6.

I read the article on my tablet. They're essentially just saying how they heard rumors of a 5.5 liter but the new LT1 clearly shot that down. But motor trend is trying to save face and basically saying don't be surprised if you see smaller engines offered later in the life cycle of the C7 due to stricter fuel mileage requirements. For now it's still just a rumor.

No 3.6 and no 5.5 will be used. Unless the 5.5 is a 7500-8000rpm motor. Gm has a lot of other cars to put a high output v6 in. Caddy, gmc, Buick, Chevy, etc. Corvette will stick to a v8. It better!
