I see myself skipping C6 era. I never felt it was enough of an evolution to justify the money versus my C5Z. The C7Z is what I'm waiting for...

When brought my C5, didn't really pay that much attention to the car.

Did not test drive one, just sat in one on the floor. Told the guy seats feel
better than the C4, easier to get in and out. and better
visibility. Order one.

On the C6
one day decided wanted a vert. They called BG and a model was coming off
the line that was optioned the way wanted and not spoken for so
they shipped it down. Had it in a week. So dealers with large allotments
do have some clout.

C7 I have no interest what so ever. C7 suv like the Porsche cayenne,
maybe

I did love the huge wide rear end and the fact it had somewhat of a real trunk. I sat on the fence for about a month not knowing if I should order one or not. I called a friend of mine in Oswego IL a small dealer out there in a corn field and asked Carla if they were going to discount the C5. She said Ross my dear I only have ONE Corvette allocated for the whole model year and yes you can have it for $500 over invoice, I almost fainted. It finally arrived in May and the day I picked it up there were no less than 15 people standing around the car like some kind of shrine. I remember first driving it off the lot and thinking it was like driving a solid brick house on wheels compared to my 94 Vert. That was SEVENTEEN years ago, and here we are on the dawn of the seventh generation car already.
Its true im not happy with the direction Chevrolet is taking our iconic car in with this new generation and im still really not as thrilled with my C6 as I was with my many C5s. However I do hope the C7 is a hit for GM and I admit a new Corvette introduction is always exciting I sure hope we are all pleasantly surprised on Sunday Team Corvette.
I have only owned C6's so far. I really like the C1 and C2. I must admit I am not a huge fan of C3, and C4. When the C5 was introduced, that is when I started to think it would be nice to drive/own a Corvette. I loved the C6 when it came out and driving mine brings a smile to my face every time. I think the C7 looks awesome but really need to see real pictures and the car in person to make final judgement. I will probably keep my C6 but also buy a C7.

I appreciate and respect everyone's individual opinions and tastes. Just thought I would share my feelings on the Corvette generations.

Can't wait to see the new C7
The Old Team Chevy in Westmont (long gone now) was great!

I bought my old 98 C5 Roadster there slighly used in 1999, and my brand new 2003 C5 Z06, in 2003, only car I ever bought brand new and I have owned MANY cars, over the last 33 years.

I know some of you here know and remember Jason Smith, the high performance Vette Specialist Tech from Team, back during the above time period. Or how about Louis, the Vette Tech Expert, who worked for Team and then Ogden Chevy for close to 25 years!

Let's hope this time they won't force you to buy a C7. Damn bastards.

Well, this thread is going to put JS back in the pink. Almost 7 hours and not locked yet.

Although I'm not sure what the thread has to do with the C7....it was a grand story about a C5, however. And, it seems the OP is not fond of the C7, based, I imagine, on all the photos he's seen of the car.

I heard Jason is in NW Indiana as of 6 years ago, man time flies. Never worked with Ogden Chev, been going to D&M in DG for normal work and SLP for performance

He did all the work on my C5 till he left Team, hope he is well

Now that Ogden Chevrolet (X Team) went belly up I have lost track of Louis but he may be in the Lincoln store. I have been to his house a few times and im going to have to just ring the bell and see where he is. Now im stuck dealing with Bill Kay and for service George Wronoski always has taken care of me so thats where I have to go now but I liked dealing with Louis better. Jason lives in Indiana so It would make sense that he is there somewhere. Jason left Team when Mike Harris sold Team out to Marc Iozzo in late 2004 who also owned and operated Ogden Lincoln. Jason was smart because the whole place started going down the tubes after Iozzo took over and Chevrolet ended up pulling the entire franchise away from him in 2011 and now the brand new Chevy building is up for sale. I am part of a group of investers including a former GM of Heritage Cadillac to buy the Chevy store and put a Cadillac ticket in there. It would be a natural since Bently is down the street along with Lincoln Mercedes, Lexus etc. Wish us luck its not easy dealing with the General to score a franchise.
