Its a tough call...the GTR is a formidable machine. I think it would be a hell of an achievement if it happened. The c7 is going to be fast, thats the only thing we know for sure...how fast....thats the question.
C7 will have a likely 30-40 hp deficit but a ~800 pound weight advantage. Pick the Vette.

Hmmmm early gtrs run mid to low 11s. The newer ones run high 10s low low 11s. Mid 120"s in the quarter. Man that's one huge moutain to climb. Maybe it will stand a chance from a roll but who knows untill final numbers come out.
When GTR's first came out, they were pitted against the 505 hp Z06. The z06 won some battles at fast tracks, but on tighter technical tracks, the GTR won. Yeah, even with it's heavy weight, the GTR can put down power coming out of corners, which is the stock Corvette's biggest weakness. As far as stats like 0-60 and quarter mile, the GTR was still winning because of launch control, 4wd, dual clutch gear box and low gear ratios.
I don't see a stock C7 beating the older GTR. But then again, stop light drag racing is not my primary objective, so I would still rather have a Corvette. I like light-weight, 2 seat, fun to drive cars that are engaging to the driver and have manual transmissions. The GTR doesn't fit in that list of desires anywhere.

The 2013 GTR with the track pack has no back seats. And can pull 2.3 Gs on a corner. Thats enagaging I think.
I believe the 2.7 is how they rate out of 10 on looks.
It still does its job well and looks are varing. Alot of people like the looks of the GTR, of course most vette owners wont but hey to each their own. Ive seen a few riding around here and they dont look as bad in person as they do in pics and plus they are blurring when I see them. lol.
