Speed Channel is running a promo for the up coming Barrett-Jackson event early next year. A still of a gold car appears in it and looks like it could be the new C7. The color looks like a GM throw back to the 1970's

I've seen that commercial I think. There's a C5 with an Avelate body kit and the same or differrent commercial featuring a Guldstrand Corvette.

I just saw that commercial for the first time about an hour ago and I was thinking the same thing. I didn't get a close enough look at it though. Like you said, it was very brief. If it was just another rendering, it was certainly one that I haven't seen before.

There's been some talk about the C7 being put on the block. It'll most likely be a charity auction.

Since the commercials are normally clips from previous auctions I don't think they'd show a C7 before the auction takes place.

General Motors have a history of auctioning off VIN #001 of a variety of their vehicles at Barrett-Jackson. I expect the C7 to be no exception. Since it will be revealed about a week before, they may or may not bring the actual model to the block. But I fully expect the first production C7 to be auctioned off in Scottsdale.

Well, the C6 ZR1 had 3 with vin 001. One for auction at Barrett Jackson, one to Jay Leno and one to the public.

You're right. If I recall the numbers assigned were 800001, 900001, and 100001, not sure if any of them were actually the first built...

it is not listed yet. it will be though i am confident. last year they did not list the #1 VIN 427 until a week before. i sincerely doubt that it is the C7 they are showing in their ad because IMO they do not have it yet. GM would not release it this early. Don't expect it to be listed until about 2 weeks before and only then it will probably say something non commital. remember the catalog ly just said 2013 Corvette, it did not spell out that it was the #1 Vin 427. I spoke with BJ this week and they were just getting around to assigning the charity cars auction numbers.
