I want a convertible, indications are that they will not be available until 2014.

Yes I can now say that I will buy "Z51"(if there is performance pack) coupe with the 8-speed automatic. Price can still be too big but everything looks good in that respect.(CO2 taxation)

I'm waiting for the Z06. My 2005 was a complete disaster. You never know on first year cars. I have a 68 big block and it's one of the nicest Corvettes I've ever owned. Luck of the draw I guess.

Waiting for my dealer to call me this spring to place my order.

The only challenge will be balancing daily driver features with high performance ones.

Any car is prone to first year problems, but they become well known quickly and they will get fixed under warranty. It would not bother me at all to buy a first year C7, and if I were still in my "Corvette mode" I would already have my name at the top of my dealers list.
You're a Corvette guy and it's in your blood! You will be back in a Vette sooner than you think!

I've had good luck with first year vettes. After over 7 years of fun with my 427 "weekend car" I'm ordering a base C7 to use as a daily driver and for interstate trips. No track pak with 235/30 19 and 285/25 20 rubber bands though. For a daily driver I need some sidewall between me and the potholes . I predict over 35 mpg on those interstate trips...

Default Buy

I had decided to buy at MSRP. Now I am not sure. The depreciation would be my reason.

Will buy the C7, not in calendar 2013 but as soon as the snow melts in spring 2014. By the time they will likely be available in 2013 it'll be almost the start of the snowy winters up north, so I'd rather wait and buy it when I actually drive it for a full season.

I'm in for a C7 and will be in for the first Z too. First year cars are some times a problem for some people. But that's why they have a warranty. I even bought a brand new 84 which many people said was the worst but I had that car for 11 years, road raced and daily driver in Chicago winters. The only thing I ever had fixed was the power windows.

I'm in.
I posted in the other "are you buying?" thread that if I'm signing up for 5 or 6 years of car payments, I want it to be on the current model.

It'll be my daily driver, just like my '06, so I'm in for all the updated creature comforts.

I understand there will be no rebates, loyalty, 0%, etc, but I'm hoping for a little bit below sticker from one of the forum vendors, and be able to cash in at least some of my GM card points.

Us early C4 purchasers did just that. Once I saw the digital dash in the first magazines... I knew I had to have one. Although the C4 body style won't go down as one of the most memorable... the technology leap the C4 had helped sell a lot of Corvettes.

I kept that 1985 for almost 7 years. I went through some tough times and had to go Vetteless for a spell. That's the only reason I sold it.

I was under the impression that the Prius was one of the most reliable cars you could buy!!!
You just never know .....
I will ALWAYS purchase an extended warranty !

And I do have a deposit on a C7 with Mike Furman at Criswell in MD.

I had a brand new 2001 Honda Accord back then fully loaded thinking that a Japanese models are bulletproof. Fast forward 35k miles later, the tranny had to be replaced twice. Luckily, it was still under warranty. Then I traded it in for a Toyota Solara, again brand new. 39k miles later, fuel pressure regulator, water pump, windshield washer pump, MAP sensor started to go one by one. I am a firm believer now that no car is 100% reliable.

I am a believer now . That extra warranty is nickels and dimes compared to the hit I would have taken !

It depends on what the base car is released with (HP/Performance). I will more than likely buy one though.

For a daily driver I skip the extended warranty. When the free warranty expires I buy a whole new car. The money I would have spent for the extended warranty helps with my tax and depreciation. If you really want to keep the car after 3 years you can then buy a discounted GMPP policy through Ken Fichtner. (salesmen like to sell a 5 year GMPP policy as part of the new car deal but it's really only a 2 year policy that begins when the original bumper-to-bumper warranty expires).

.

Put me on this list unless one of my new products goes big. Until then, sensibility takes precedence...

I want the car bad, I don't care what the *** end looks like. The side view, front view and interior view have me sold. Not to mention the car is gonna rip!
