I imagine we'll be at the C7 around 10:30 to 11:30'ish
I have a deposit with Furman because I am quite sure he will produce a car in the first couple of months of production.
with any new model - or redesign of a current model - it's always tough to get hands on one. We all have our unique avenues; grab the one that looks the most promising.
For a C7 to fit in my budget, I'll hafta get the employee diiscount; or somewhere real-close to that. If I have to wait until the 2015 model; that is what will have to happen.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for a 2014 (assuming I like it after being viewed with my own eyes) !

Mike Furman! Thanks for selling at msrp. That's the right way to do business.

I am not in the business, and I hope Mike@Criswell will correct me if wrong. There are no GM "stock" orders of Corvettes. All units ordered are already considered "sold" to a specific dealer. In other words... GM does not -all on their own- make Corvettes for their general inventory; that sit in a general distribution lot - hoping a dealer asks for them. Every Corvette made already has a dealer destination dealt to it; via the very order placed by the dealer. The dealer may consider it their stock unit though. But GM does not make "extra" Corvettes that haven't been already dealer ordered. .

Yep; but they can increase their 2015 model year allocation by selling more 2014 models. The allocation restriction is lifted - about mid way production year run - and those dealers wanting to - can order more than their initial allotment. My local dealer wants to increase their 2015 allotment - by selling more 2014 Corvettes.
Allocation restriction never gets lifted per se on the Corvette. What happens is that many dealers are either in the Corvette sales business or they are not! The small dealers passed on the extra available allocation for the final round of C6's...many of them passed several times. Criswell on the other hand opted to ask for an extra 100+ the last qtr of 2012 for C6 orders. The Factory gets nervous a bit as that is approx 6 million dollars worth of inventory. Clearly they wouldnt do that unless you are a top 3 selling dealer of Corvettes. In other words you better have a good track record etc. As far as that guys statement about that dealer wanting to sell 2014's to get 2015's...that's not true at all. Because if you don't have 2014's you cant sell nor earn 2015 allocation. MF

Correct to a point. All vehicles across all the car lines are built to what the dealer has ordered and allocated for. It's not like any of them are sitting in a holding lot and you cherry pick x y and z. Vehicles are distributed in a 3 month rollout depending on your rate of sales. MF
NO. Although Buds is in Ohio... they are not my local dealer. I would rather buy a C7 through Buds.
Yvonne and I were at our local Chevrolet dealer; she was looking at new crossovers. The salesman that's been our families sales person there asked if I was going to buy the "new Corvette" or not. I told him what Mike@Criswell already stated... that GMO/GMS generally isn't allowed for first year model runs (or first year redesigns). That's when he said they want to get more Corvette allocations and could get "very close" to the employee price for the 2014 model. I asked how close; he said within $350.
I would wait until you hear that info from the General Manager, I doubt the salesman will have final say on the new C7 pricing for sold orders. I have been selling Corvette's for over 34 yrs and I wouldn't quote C7 pricing until I heard from my General Manager, which I have that's why I have stated we will not be charging over MSRP for initial C7 orders. MF
I will have to consider that if I'm so hot on the C7 that I won't want to wait for the 2015 model year to get one.

Please touch base if you have an interest in placing an order for a C7 2014 Corvette. 11 more days until the full reveal at the Detroit Auto Show. I have been thru 4 Generation changes since I started selling Corvette's in 1978...this will be exciting! I am not marking up from MSRP.
I'm considering the C7 as my first corvette (been drooling over 'vettes for years now). I'll be waiting until the unveiling to make a final decision but from everything I'm seeing so far, I'll most likely pull the trigger.
What's a ballpark number to ship the car to Charlotte, NC? Any other fees such as dealer doc fees?
Thanks!

At least that is the way I understood it happens.

Oh yep; I didn't make book on that statement. But I was surprised of the eagerness to sell.
well... maybe. If a dealer that has 3 Corvette allocations - sells their three - and gets three more from other dealers & sells them... that helps; as the districts record of the sale goes to the end dealer.
At least that is the way I understood it happens.

C7 orders~301 212 4420 Mike Furman Criswell Chevrolet
The C7 full reveal will be here before you know it. Much anticipated and it will be well received. I have been personally selling Corvette's as a Corvette enthusiast for 34+ yrs and the anticipation still puts steam in my stride!

Melting Slicks
I had tried a couple of products but nothing seem to work and then I met Mike Furman at Criswell . I was leery of how a smaller Camaro looking car could solve my problem but he said if I can get bank approval I should be back in the game in September. Thanks Mike

GMS discounts are much less than they used to be and things may have changed, but the issue back then was not GM allowing it, but finding a dealer who would do it.
