11's in the 1/4 stock ?
I didn't see any speculation on this. I'm hoping for C6Z performance in the 1/4 with low to mid 120 mph traps out of the A8. It may be possible if the C7 is the sum of all its improvements. With 3000 lbs, more powerful engine better tranny and maybe a sophisticated traction control system it may be possible. What do you guys think?

Yes.
Do keep in mind that a bone stock (right down to the rear tires and paper air filter) C6 Z06 has gone a 10.9@128+mph with a few others also having gone 11.0 - 11.3s at 125mph - 127+mph.
I do not believe that a bone stock Corvette C7 LT1 will be able to match that...but I do believe that the car (be it the manual or the automatic) will be capable of an 11.5 second 1/4 mile at over 122mph in the right hands in the right conditions.

Ok I'm all aboard the C7 train but if a base C7 bests a C6 Z06 in the 1/4 I will take it personal. I don't think it will happen. Please don't let that happen GM

The key for significant improvement in this area is rear traction, C6 is traction limited, did the engineers improve the C7 rear traction? that remains to be seen, time will tell.

3000 lbs and 475-80 bhp at least AND have a closer ratio transmission then the C6 Z06 to get into the low 11's. I am sure you might be able to get aftermarket gearing if you are all bout drag racing.
Breaking into the 11's will be no problem. Hell, I did 12.27 @ 116 mph in my 2006 C6 Z51 with factory tires with only a Vararam intake and a cat back 3.5" straight pipe (no mufflers).
Then again, I plan to track day this car. That's what is is really made for

The guy who broke into the 10's in a C6 Z06 was named Ranger I believe. I think he did that on drag radials.

Actually I think it was Jamie Furman who did 10.98 in a stock Z06 and Ranger did 10.71 on DRs.

I believe Ranger's bone stock (stock tires and all) best is an 11.0, Jamie got into the 10.9s and of course Ranger ran that 10.71@130+mph with drag radials being the ONLY modification to his otherwise bone stock C6 Z06.
Dr. Ron has also gone 10.7s in his C6 Z06 on drag radials which tells us that it's not just one isolated example that has done it...basically ALL C6 Z06s are capable of generating these kinds of ETs and trap speeds.

My estimate is you'll see most mags get high 11's around 119-120 in with a manuel trans, assuming the 450hp/450tq GM stated earlier.
So the C7 will easily hold on to it's title of best value among supercars, and be a top performer even in base form.
However given today's crappy economy. Plus the steep 5k price increase & worsening future for the USA especially over the next 4 years, I think C7 sales are likely capped at 25,000 or less.
GM is also seemingly trying to reach a somewhat different buyer with more techy add-ons. Myself, I'd much rather GM kept it simple, and gave me a larger LT1-modernized 427 engine as standard material, instead of map screens & extra gadgets you might use once, etc.

Not yet entirely confirmed.
Historically speaking, GM/Chevrolet has NEVER raised the base MSRP of any car/truck that much over the course of just one (or even two) model years.
Considering these more 'trying times' as you've mentioned, there's still an outside chance that this 2014 Corvette will MSRP for as little as even $51,900.00. But yes realistically speaking, possibly closer to the $53k/$54k range.

I think 11s should be attainable in full stock trim.
The mags will probably get 11.8-12.0 at 119/120 mph.
Average drivers will probably run 12.1-12.3s.
Decent drivers will probably match the mag times with a few running 11.7s.
Good drivers will probably be able to get a few 11.5s.
Good drivers with DRs only might even see low 11s in "perfect" conditions.
This is assuming all the stats (ie, power/weight/launch control/trac) are somewhat accurate.
For all the posturing about AWD and TT V6s and "GM missed the boat" comments, I think the C7 will be a very capable car.
Too bad I wont be getting one anytime soon.
