Am hoping the 'vert is late enough that the initial fixes get baked in. And do think that modern design/construction techniques have advanced enough that first-year-woes will be fewer.
Have owned three first-year BMWs lately and all have been good from the start (the hi pressure fuel pump failure the only real exception and it fixed easily with a transplant under warrantee). If something does show up, more likely it will be in the category of trip-to-dealer and not some godawful disaster.
Yes this is new territory, but the car already exists in cyberspace and it's had a ton of road time. I'd relax.

Other than that, no other issues. Overall, it has been a relatively stress-free ownership experience considering how complex it is. The only other issue worth mentioning is tire bubbles on those sh!tty runflat tires but that seems to be a widespread tire problem and not unique to BMWs.

No matter how much I may like the new C7, I most likely wouldn't be a buyer until the '15 or '16 model is out. A few reasons for this, mainly financial! I am like most of us, am anxiously looking forward to 2 weeks from today!

That's really low balling, you can't even get a decent C5 for $26,500 where I live.

Will be looking at used 2016 models in 2017.
Makes the most sense for me. Hopefully they will be around 35-38K used.

Tomorrow or Tuesday I'll be giving my dealer a deposit check. I'm sure it will be a while for details on colors, options, etc. but I'll be on the list. I plan to keep my '84 and '05, so not in a big hurry for when it arrives; I want to get it built to my specs so if it means a delay for a color or option on constraint I'm OK with that. Did that on my early C4, C5, and C6's so I know the drill. I'll be at B-J the week following the unveil on the 13th, so hopefully there will be one there as well.

I'm buying, barring any major debacle.
I won't be returning from Afghanistan until Spring of '14, so I'll have most of the first production run from the '14 model year to monitor from afar for any major quirks or platform-wide issues.
I have a bad taste in my mouth as a result of the first model year C6's teething problems, and will remain an optimistic skeptic.

This is your first post.
Talking about trolls and you can't see them. Then your second post on the forum references trolls as well.
Funny you making these comments.

I feel your pain buddy. I had four HPFPs replaced in my last two BMWs. I had three HPFPs replaced on my '08 335i that I had for two years and so far only one HPFP replaced on my '11 135i, currently on its second year too. Good thing it was all covered under warranty because I think the part itself was like $1,200, not including labor to install it.
"CAM-DRIVEN FUEL PUMP
The direct injection system features a very-high-pressure fuel pump, which delivers up to 15Mpa (150 bar). The high-pressure, engine-driven fuel pump is fed by a conventional fuel-tank-mounted pump. The direct injection pump is mounted in the “valley” between cylinder heads – beneath the intake manifold – and is driven by the camshaft at the rear of the engine. This location ensures any noise generated by the pump is muffled by the intake manifold and other insulation in the valley."

I feel your pain. My ex wife is a lawyer. Worst divorce ever. In our home state. 4 kids oldest in college. New laws passed allowed for her income to be figured in. So now I can play again
