And that's GREAT for you. Going to the early reveal is GREAT for those doing that. It's all good!!! I think it is more satisfying to look at stuff that way. Just sayin'...

Head straight for Corvette and Chevy/trucks while the place is almost empty, then do Cadillac and the rest of GM, then the other cars that are on your list to see. You have a good hour or two before the place gets crowded. Then last you check out the unimportant cars and trucks if you care to. After that the place will be crowded. We usually do this at 9 on Sunday morning though, after staying nearby at the Marriott Renaissance Center (GM headquarters). It's a cool building and GM usually has some special cars on display. Greektown and its Casino are a couple blocks away, they're fun and festive on Saturday night. RenCen has a PeopleMover station, running through downtown including Greektown/Casino and Cobo Center.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. That gives me a lot to go on. Still have one question: "When is the first day we can get an ordinary ticket and see the C7 at the Detroit Auto Show?" Not being difficult here, just ignorant I'm afraid. I mean, if the reveal is on the 13th, do we have to wait for Sat.? You say it's the 17th of Jan. but my calendar says the 17th is on a Thurs. I am a bit confused.

Soooooo, if the reveal is on the 13th, 2 questions:
1. What day does the Detroit Auto Show really start?
2. Forget VIP days, Dealer only days, and any other days that are problematic. When can I fly in from NH, buy a show ticket, see the C7 for the first time at the Detroit Auto Show, and fly home that evening?

Maybe I'm not the only one wanting to know.

Sorry about the typo, it was late. Yes, the first "public" days are Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th. If you do decide to stay down the street at the RenCen note that it's a bit pricey on weekdays, much cheaper on Saturday or Sunday night.

not talking about that event....the actual exhibit where all the cars are....it's not simply a corvette show....I guess you're not in the auto industry.

Nope, the worst that can happen is you aren't allowed in...once inside, the place is crawling with exhibit folks running around setting everything up...all the auto companies have employees there to oversee each exhibit...you can wander all over the place if you like, the corvette focus is simply just a small part of the entire show...the forum tends to blow it up as the 9th wonder of the world, but in reality it is just part of the show. Everything's on a tight schedule and it is fun watching it all come together...I always enjoyed talking to the competition too....in the car business there really are no secrets among like minds.

You can get in on industry days on the 16 and 17 for $95.00 or wait till Sat. 19th for general public opening.

We will be at the reveal!
