The " NEW C-7 " Corvette

So no one who thinks the C6 was a C5.5 or the C7 is a C6.4 has stepped up to say what it takes in their mind to be a "new" car. or How changing 99.9% of the arts of a product does not constitutes a new product or at least the next generation, or next big release (like going from software Version 6.x to 7.0)?
I can almost guarantee these same people throwing these dumb labels around arn't processing the simple fact that the c7 will outperform the c6, just the c6 outperformed the c5. They also arn't taking into account it's A) already just about the best at what it does at each level of corvette and B) if I $55k mid front engine corvette performed the same as a $80k mid rear engine corvette then what's the point of complaining? Because no one thinks your driving a Lamborghini or something?
2 of THE BEST performing cars in history: corvette and viper. Outperforming the enzo, GT, Carerra gt, murciellago, and pretty much every mid engine car to date in all categories. For once people, let that sink in for a second.

It may resemble the c6 slightly as it may resemble the Ferrari something or other as well. There are 2 carry over parts, the rear latch for the top and the cabin air filter. So the top will be similar and behind the glove will be similar.Thats it.Oh,and if were a betting man,and I am,I'd say they still haven't made a spot for the front plate people!

My guess is the C7 will correct the exterior styling "flaws" as the C6 did for the C5. My guess is the rear hatch will be totally different,no "greenhouse" glass. The rear fascia/diffuser will be some what different. My guess is the fender arches will be slightly taller ,though the headlamps will be exposed they will be narrow with leds. The interior of the C7 will outclass most cars in it's class.

The more I read about the new C-7 the more I believe its a C-6 with a few refinements. I keep hearing " why change a good thing...... a proven design ..... how do you improve on perfection " and the list goes on. I would like to know what causes it to be a C-7 over the current C-6 ? Is this just sales talk for something new ? Who decides when to change the number ? 2014 is probably going to be a good year to buy a new version as they keep the same design for years with small detail changes. The C-6 design was current for 9 model years. The 14 model should take you into 2025.
Of course I might also have just completely made all that up

From what I've been hearing the C7 was supposed to be a total redesign of the C6 but the whole Bailout thing happened and the guberment made GM put the redesign on the shelf to get government money because Corvettes are gas hogs and they are bad for the Environment. The C7 is actually a redesigned C6 where they changed everything but they didn't really introduce any new technology. The C7 is only going to run for 3-4 years and then they are going to introduce the C8 which will be a true mid-engine (behind the driver) all wheel drive 500hp 500ft lb beast which weighs in around 2400lbs and delivers the best interior quality ever offered in any GM product for a modest entry price around $54,000.

In stock(as in from the factory) the NPP has no drone. Only when the system is modified from stock, does one get the 1500-1600 RPM drone.
The stock system does not open until approxamately 3500 RPM ,well above the RPM level that produces the drone.
