Sales of the Ford Mustang for September of 2012 were 4,439....the Chevrolet Camaro sold 5,670 units.

I am surprised at all the negativity about the car on this forum. Let's remember how much negativity there was about the C5's huge butt (I bought one and loved that car and quickly got over its rear end) and then when the C6 first appeared, the hated of its exposed headlights (again when it first appeared -- and, yes, I bought/have one and really like it), yet C5 sales were great, and before the recent recession, the C6 sold over 40,000 units in 2006.
So, while I remain surprised about how much there is, on this forum (and even more of it on the other forum) C7 "dislike of this", and "intense dislike of that" C7 feature, I will not be surprised at C7 sales being good! And, I will buy a C7 and will really like its improvements, and love driving it!!!

Cylinder deactivation. I am surprised to find this feature on a performance engine. I never down a new innovation, it may be great. I will save my judgement till after the test drive. I will test drive this car/engine before I purchase. I hope the LT-1 engine lives up to GM's expectations.
After all, these guys are indeed Vette guys. Just like us, maybe a little more hardcore, they want their Vette to be a serious performer. So you can trust that if it passes with these guys' seal of approval, it's likely going to be awesome.
Honestly, after looking at videos of AFM, I'm not worried one bit. In fact, I think while at a stop light the engine should drop down to 4 cyl too. After all, if your car isn't moving, and your foot is on the brake, it should know you're not going anywhere. You're just wasting fuel. But the moment you take your foot off the brake it should go back to V8 mode.
The change over between the modes is so fast we'd never really notice.

I'd take a Vette over a GTR any day.

What surprises me is the unbridled negativity and hostility towards other posters on this forum. Anybody with the temerity to express a differing opinion, supposition, or preference about almost anything can expect to receive insults and personal attacks.
Can't we disagree about technical details and offer contrasting guesses as to potential developments without descending to name calling?
Sigh.

The steering wheel in my 2011 GS? The same one that is in my wife's old Saturn Aura. I couldn't find a list, but I know other parts were/are used too.
That is what pisses me off. Then they brag about not using parts from the C6 like that is some kind of accomplishment? You want to impress me? Give me my own steering wheel.
F***ing lame.

Assuming the renderings are close to the final design, I'm mostly surprised by the evolutionary approach to the styling. Looks more similar to European sport design than American muscle.
I was expecting something much more nostalgic in appearance, mirroring the iconic design cues that made this car so unique in the past.
Too bad, I'm planning to buy a new American muscle car and was really looking forward to this one...guess I'll have to take a second look at the Camaro.
