Well, these tail lights look kinda familiar now...
Gotta tell ya that I don't think the black surround of the tail lights will be any kind of venting as the Omega mold just doesn't account for that kind of venting in the bumper form.

For instance, there is one colour vette I wouldn't own even if it was the rarest model in existence. Just detest that colour.
Others will only get THAT colour.
It sure is fun to obsess about them though.
BTW this is one colour I do like: my 2013 427 from Bud's......

Unmodified C8 of the Year 2021 Finalist
2018 C7 of Year Finalist
With what I see now with this keeks cad drawing compared against the Spy shot of the rear camo C7, I can easily be convinced there is nothing going on with the unusual hatch camo suggesting a take on the split window design, a la Stingray Concept.
Instead, if you look how the hatch window is receded inward on the bottom of the hatch like on a C3, the unusual hatch camo could have been taylored to hide that fact.
Thanks again keeks, and I keep the faith that it will be a great C7 design.
keeks, still with us tonight and care to comment?

Looks good to me with the exception of the black triangle lateral to the tail lights. If it is a vent that is some consolation but as stated above the Omega video does not support this (may be a base car).
The Jalopnik drawing got it right but the proportions are bound to be significantly different....and better.
See you in January at the NAIAS C7.

Man, this car has been staring us in the face since last year! I just can't see much real difference in the body. The wheels are different...the spoiler has some differences and the vent over the fenders do too. A few little measurement differences but very minor. Hard to believe...
As to whether it is a "wide-body" or not - that remains to be seen. The base could have the exact same body with the same fender flaring but no brake cooling vents.

The differences:
1. Shoulder scoops.
2. No vertical crack on the outer edges of taillights. Thus taillights are actually set wider apart.
3. Taillights (if you look at left ones) have extra side in the corner at 5pm. In Jalopnik's renderings they have a sharp corner there. Also they seem to be slanted a bit more in Jalopnik's renderings (hard to judge)
4. Spoiler is completely different - moe enveloping, with indentation in the middle section rather than one smooth line.
5. The whole taillight part of rear is set in a trapezoid dip. No such thing in Jalopnik's rendering.
6. The side vents on bumper are wider than in J rendring.
7. No creases/lines behind rear quarter window. Bodywork seems smooth in CAD drawing.
I didn't like Jalopnik's rear, but with all these small detail differences... overall the rear looks hot as hell.

We should be comparing this to the Omega video as that is a done deal. Once the design team finalized the design they ordered the dies to be made by Omega. These dies costs millions, and they do not deviate from the final design. The Omega video shows what appears to be a convex shape at the joint where the latest from Keeks appears to be concave.

I would suggest the owners of the 62 vettes damn near crapped their pants when they saw the SWC.
Consider......
1) first fixed roof
2) pop up headlights.
3) radio vertically oriented.
4) useless cosmetic Cookie sheet hood grills.
5) wheels held on with ONE nut......(because of production issues, not till 64)
6) transverse leaf spring. And half shafts.
7) goofy cosmetic split in window......
The reason corvettes have thrived and survived is not because everyone loves them. They survive because the guys designing them and bolting together ARE more "corvette" guys than most of us.
I put my faith in Bowling Green...And Tag.

The spoiler is a little funky but I definitely do not hate that rear fascia.
The tail lights/bezels are certainly 'different' and a true departure from the current car (some do believe that change is good).
This car could be pretty badass overall.
Thanks again keeks.

It does appear to have a fairly serious flare on the fender and is a widebody. I hope they make these panels this time for the Z cars so it's near impossible or cost prohibitive to change body panels and make base cars into cheap copies. It looks like that brake scoop in front of the rear wheel continues into the rocker which would make a change there quite difficult if the base does not have that scoop. That along with maybe deeper indentations on the doors and a different hood than base cars would make it so that nearly the entire body would have to be changed. I would really like to see the Z bodies stay separate and unique this time from the wannabes.

I was looking forward to the departure of round lights for something fresh. This brings a whole new meaning to "be careful what you wish for" If those are the lights, I want the old lights back!
