Guess the c7 models & prices
Sorry, not offering any weekend trips or cash for any winners here but what are your guesses on introductory C7 models and their prices? These are just guesses mind you Examples:
Base model: $45,000.00
Mid-Range (maybe Z06): $90,000.00
ZR1 (or whatever it may be): $125,000.00
Have fun!

Don't think there'll be a ZR1 or equivalent in the first year.

I think the base will be priced around $62k. Once the zo6 comes out, I am guessing 2nd or 3rd year, I'm sure it will be in the 90's. I hope they have the 427(or whatever size the zo6 may be) convertible again but earlier on.

I don't expect the base to be ANYWHERE in the 40's, and the low 50's is a stretch.
However, GM is trying to target the younger buyers. If they're going to do that, they're going to need to drop the price enough for them to reach it. Just a thought.
I expect to pay $60K for my fully optioned out C7 in the first year.

When the 1997's came out the base price was a couple hundred cheaper than a 1996. The question is will the C7 come in 1LT, 2LT, 3LT and 4LT I think they should only have two packages there is no need for four.

Base Stingray fairly optioned approaching $60,000 similar C6 ZO6 performance.
Peformance model $78,000-$90,000 depending on options.
Ultra performance ZR1 we won't see for a while however I suspect it will be priced similar, maybe a bit more than the current ZR1. I expect a 700hp monster that will send Ferrari running back to the drawing board.

I could see losing 100 lbs, but not that much.

To match the current Z06, its gonna need about the same amount of power. Maybe a little less, due to better tires and the magnetic suspension.

I just don't see GM introducing the next generation corvette with a hp bump of just 6hp over the outgoing base C6.

heh if they are targeting younger buyers -- good luck.
Most "Young" people are straddled with student loan debt for the next 10-20 years... I was one of the lucky few who got out of college in 2005 and didn't owe anyone anything in terms of school.
Hard to afford the latest corvette for 50-60K when you are still 40K in the hole from something that happened 10 years ago.

I'm just a couple payments away from fully paying off my student loans and just picked up a job that doubles my income. At 29, though, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the few in my age range.

I don't think there will be any model other than a base coupe (and maybe convertible) the very first year.
I still think that it could come in lower, my guess is a base MSRP of roughly $52.5k (give or take a few hundred in either direction).

I'm sticking with the $54,995 and essentially what a 1LT GS lists for in 2013. That has been the pattern for the last three generations.
And considering all the expensive weight saying materials (probably even more than the ZR1) the C7 will have I doubt GM could bring it in at any thing less than that.
BTW that just about matches the base prices of the GT500 and ZL1.

they are not targeting younger buyers with college debt and lower paying jobs. They are targeting younger folks/middle managers with good jobs (they do exist) who have disposable income (i.e. maybe take some sales away from the M3 crowd where this money seems to flock to).
