If someone wants a 2+2 V8 Chevy, that is what the Camaro is for.

Com'on people, use some common sense. Its not happening.

Plenty of space in the engine compartment for a 3.0L to 4.5L 70* DOHC V8. In your brain, not enought space.

So you're a genius in your own mind, eh? Here's a pic of the exact engine you are advocating in another thread. So, you actually believe that's gonna fit under the Corvette hood? Your brain is full of something, alright, but it's not reason or logic.......... Be sure to let us all know when GM hires you to tell them how to fit it in the C8.......

I notice you haven't responded to that thread since I posted the same picture there. I guess it's just too hard to refute facts, when one picture of mine is worth 1000 words of yours.............. maybe we can all hope for the same inaction on your part here from this point forward!

The best way to solve the JoesC5 / tuxnharley feud is on " Pinks All Out "

Feud? What feud? We're just having "an open and frank exchange of opinions", albeit pictures vs, words.........

Hell, I'd buy him a beer and continue the discussion in person, but California to Missouri is a little too far.........!

That's it - I think you figured it out - those rear "seats" are actually only for the family pets!!! GM is trying to tap a whole new demographic - 30 somethings with out kids (you know, "DINKS" - Double Income No Kids) and the 50/60 something empty nesters, both of whom substitute pets for kids. Can't leave the Sharpei or Shitzu at home or at the Vets when on a road trip!

What fun is there, if we can't exchange a few friendly barbs. Neither of us take ourselves that seriously.

Final application makes all the difference in packaging.
Guess which LS engine goes into a truck and which goes into a Corvette.

Hint...look at the words written on the engine.

Not quite a valid comparison. You yourself advocated the turbo between the cylinder banks - which has to stay there in the engine architecture you advocate. Take a look at the height of that turbo housing - it's well above the fuel rail covers of the LSx engines, or even the cam covers of the engine it sits on. And, that still doesn't address the heat/hood issue in a Corvette.
Thanks for the hint, anyway, but I didn't need to look. I see that engine every time I open my hood, except my fuel rail covers are painted LMB to match the car!

Default Screens

I was wondering with the two back seats will I be able to get the video screens on the rear of the front seats ? My Westie loves to watch TV.

Base C7 Coupe/Convertible: 6.2L DOHC, VVT, V8 530hp, choice of 7-speed manual or DCT transmission. Weight is 3185 pounds. 0-60 in 3.3 sec (7 speed) and 3.0 sec (DCT) Interior quality will be that of a Cadillac CTS-V with a traditional dual cockpit design with (take a deep breath) a 2+2 configuration. Yes, the base C7 will have small back seats (similar to Porsche). However, take a deep breath, there is a factory delete option for those of you who do not want the rear seats. Resulting from extensive market research was the fact that most young professionals do not buy corvettes, not because they don't appeal to them, but because they are not viewed as family friendly (i.e. can only accommodate two people). Therefore, the intention for the 2+2 design was to appeal to a larger demographic (i.e. young professionals with children) Seats are Recaro (similar to the ones used on the Nissan GTR). Jalopnik is accurate (minus all the visual functional vents) but proportions/overall looks are off in the illustrations. That being said, the Camaro comparisons will stop when the car is seen in person. When you see it in person, you will think you are looking at a Ferrari (think Ferrari 599 but more aggressive) Approx $60-70k price depending on options you choose. This base C7 has outperformed the C6 ZO6 at the Milford Proving ground track (with full camo on it!!). I was there and I was shocked at how easily it handled the C6 Z06. Finally, and this should make you traditionalists happy, the base C7 model will reintroduce the "Stingray" nameplate. Yes, the base Corvette will be call "Stingray" (all one word like the C3 Corvette generation not "Sting Ray." The standard Corvette cross-flags will be used (the transformers emblems will not be used). This Corvette, from a technology and design standpoint, will appeal to young professionals. The Stingray name is being used to reintroduce the legendary corvette brand to a new generation of enthusiasts.

Grand Sport (aka widebody Corvette): Will not be produced. The C7 generation will not have a wide-body variation. There will only be one body.

Corvette Z06: This will shock most people, but the ZO6 nameplate will not be used for the C7 or C8 generation. Keep your C6 427 Z06/427 Convertibles!!! C6 427s are expected to become collectors items. No more 427s…ever. No more naturally aspirated pushrod motors for GM.

Corvette ZR1: 6.2L Twin Turbo V8. 730hp. Available with 7-speed transmission or a re-geared DCT transmission. 0-60 in 2.9 sec (7-speed) and 2.7 sec (DCT). Will not be a wide-body but will have more aggressive styling to include what you are seeing on the Jalopnik renderings. Interior is similar to base model C7 with lighter seats, door panels, and more use of carbon fiber. All ZR1s will be two seaters (no rear seats on the ZR1). The car weights 2989 pounds! How? Through the use of carbon fiber roof (which is painted this time)/fenders/hood/rear hatch/and even doors! There is extensive use of aluminum, nano steel components, lexan rear window like Porsche GT2/3 rs. Floorboards are nano steel vice carbon and balsa wood. Overall engine and transmission weight is down 75 pounds (50 pounds with DCT). Initial tests (in full camo) suggest it is the 2nd fastest production car EVER tested behind only the Bugatti Veyron. Price: 120k-140k depending on options.
In the base C7 , everything here except the 2+2 configuration and DCT has been "sort of "confirmed by a second party

I should have thanked ADVBedoiun for bringing me back to this thread ...When I came back to the thread the first thing I notice is the Recaro "GTR style" seats that are mentioned in another thread. This is what got my attention !

2+2 makes sense. "Honey it has a back seat" will generate a lot of sales. That is why the 911 and GTR have a back seat that only a 5yr old can love. No Z06 makes sense. The LS7 was doomed when it didnt migrate to any other models and they are problematic with some valve issues for guys who track them regularly. GM probably had to replace too many motors under warranty. I better go get a Z06 before they skyrocket, lol.

The part that is tilting me towards believing it all is the 60-70k comment...
I was afraid of this as I continue to see volumes dwindle (for all makes) making space for higher margin demands from the GM bean counters. I can actually imagine the marching orders: build a car wich takes us in the 70K area for base..
70K ish for 505hp today
70K ish for 530hp tomorrow..

I just won't believe the base C7 will start at more than $55-$60k.

Really?
A full $10k+ more than the outgoing 2013 model?
I just can't see them raising/increasing the base MSRP that much in one single model year, but maybe.

You are correct , I did miss that.

Those Recaro GTR style seats that were mentioned were very similar to the seat in the seat thread . That got me a little crazy.

The 2+2 is possible . The 4 seat Lotus Evora has a 102 wheelbase and the C7 may end up at 108.
