Vipe is not going rear/mid engine, which is what that depicts.

Ok, I don't get it. The 03/04 cobra mustang hood with its twin recessed vents: awesome. The 03+ viper hood with giant, sharp, mean looking vents: awesome. SRT8 charger with giant scoop: awesome. Now, the charger's switch to a big heat vent I can understand as a vent releasing heat is probably a lot more aero friendly the a scoop shoving air underhood to cool. But current versions of it and the other 2 have sacrificed looks for well... I'm not even sure if it's for the sake of aerodynamics. The current gt500 heat vent cut out is filled by a rubber/plastic insert(not sure which) and visible from 100ft away. The cobra's vents are sorta too. But they are recessed downward, arn't at all noticeable, and don't look like a cheap eyesore to me. The charger went from a mean looking scoop to some thin heat vent you don't even notice, thereby making the hood look like a v6 hood from a distance. The viper is going from giant, mean looking vents to two tear drop shaped depressions similar to the new SRT8 jeep hood(the viper's hood was leaked even before the hotwheels image, and based on these pics it looks like it was the real deal). I know everything's gotta follow aero designs anymore which I'm fine with, but some of these just look bad in general compared to their precursors while seemingly granting no improvement to aerodynamics. Tiny things that make a world of difference.

Definitely disappointed. You can really tell its Italian influences in the front. It's still a tiny jump from the last viper, but the blacked out back end fixed whatever it was that I didn't like about older vipers(that I could never quite figure out). But the super soft and curvy front end screams alfo romeo strangly enough in that low, front shot. The return to the tiny triangle inlet is also kinda a bummer to me. Interested in powertrain still, but no way I'd take this over last gen based on appearance.

03+ = nasty badass
Gts = cool, retro but modern
92-96 = rt10 Ronald mcDonald shoe
13+ = tone it all back down(see unAmericanize it)

Ralph Gilles designed the car in house and it was approved in five minutes. This wasn't some Fiat team influence here. I've met Ralph (now president of the SRT brand) at VIR and he's 100% car guy. He had a brand new (new at the time) ACR there and he towed it with the brand new Ram which wasn't on anyone's radar yet.

The car looks amazing and these are crappy pics

Hmmm. If that's the new snake, I'm left underwhelmed.

Still interested in the drivetrain, tho.

And when the vette comes out, going to take at least 2 years for GM to get all the bugs out.
So at least Viper is getting a head start. So if wait to see what mess gm comes up with, and
don't like it, the viper will have some of its problems worked out
