Not sure if you guys noticed but the fine print on the new article says a smaller 5.5 litre engine with roughly the same amount of HP as the current 6.2.

They expect a lower overall weight, to improve the power to weight ratio however.

Heh, All you on the fence should go out and get those GS's at 15 off sticker before its too late!

The tail lights are too much like a Camaro's and I'm already sick of the gazillions of Camaros I see every day. (Pleased the Camaro is making GM money so they can produce other cars like the Corvette)

I'm hoping the new C7 will incorporate the "wide bodied" look as standard. This one doesn't appear to have it...

IMO, Sadly, the body style of the new NSX looks much cleaner then the C7.

That is NOT the C7 in "all it's glory".

That is a rendering/illusration. Nothing more.

Yes I'd noticed/read that as well, I think it's still just speculation at this point though.

And IMO, happily, the body style of the new Ferrari F12berlinetta looks much cleaner then that of the Honda NSX as well.
But still not quite sure what any of that has to do with the Corvette though, especially considering that we haven't even seen the new Corvette's actual/true final body style yet.

Well no, that's not actually a 'definite'.
What I think you might be looking at is a camouflage cover that has 4 round holes cut into it that don't necessarily correspond exactly with the tail lights behind them.

My mint white C5 is now ten years old, always garaged, been rained on twice, smells new, gets 31.6 highway w/auto trans, and about to turn 29K miles. As alleged C7 pictures emerge, I'm loving my 02 more and more.

GM was quite open with its Camaro development process. Recall that Camaro development cars, with what we later knew to be final production bodies, still had hacked-up taillight (and headlight) pods until VERY late. I don't think we saw production lights until a couple of months before the car's official debut.

So when I see round LED arrays on the butt of the test Vettes in the snow, a year before C7's debut, I don't draw any production conclusions whatsoever. They're almost certainly preprod units to make the cars legal for public roads.

The shape of the cutouts of the fascia, that's more likely production shape.

BTW, I don't mind Corvette lamps being round or oval or Tupperware SquaRound or even trapezoids or parallelograms. What I think looks like azz is the black junk in weird shapes around the taillamps. I know they're trying to reduce the perceived size and flatness of the butt and maybe give it a racecar look, but it's just cheap and poopy.

Fortunately, it looks like the general assembly method is the same as past Corvettes, with one big endcap, so if the real car doesn't somehow pull off this mascara look, the aftermarket can fix it before the first model year is up.

I don't know, overall, I really like it. The front is awesome, very aggressive and Ferrari inspired no doubt. Since 1984, the rear clip of the Vette has barely changed, it's just been the same basic shape this entire time. I love the smooth lines and big butt of my 03 Z06, BUT, I think it was long overdue for an update. It's also very possible that due to overwhelming feedback, they will change the tails. Even though this is very close to the 'final' design, that's probably a simple enough change to implement last minute if they feel it's needed. However, I think everyone can agree Corvette design had to shake things up a bit after the slow sales the past few years. Just spend some time in the C6 sections and you'll see lots of guys changing over the GTRs and 911s, something needed to be done.

Looking at the camo on the spy shots, I think the rendering pretty much nailed what the front is going to look like minus some tweaks to the headlights possibly. Looking good.

Really like the front; really dislike the back --WAY TOO BUSY, with too many different shapes, treatments, etc. And "I second" all the comments above about the Camaro taillights not working on the C7.

Think GM is still playing with us about the Camaro tailights; at least, I hope so.

Like all you guys I will wait and see but have to say, I like the new look ,it is somewhat angular and more aggressive then my C6 which I love as it was different then the C5 which was different then the C4 , and I think color is important....I love silver, I can't wait to take museum delivery and drive it across country.....remember life is short!

Glad I got my C6 Z06 SC652.

Although it always takes a year or two for the new style to grow on me.
