Jalopnik reveals C7?

That frustrates me as well. The simple fact is that, no matter what auto publication brews up renderings, and no matter how many videos we see of various parts being fabricated, the C7 has not been revealed. No one here actually knows what it looks like beyond a shadow of a doubt. Sure, it may look like the Jalopnik renderings, that is certainly feasible. But what if they have changed things? Anything is possible. Until the C7 has been officially revealed or spotted, it is foolish to pass negative judgement.

Its important for people to spell out their opinion early because, if not, GM would likely blindly go on making it. Think of the value the internet provides for a designer of a new car - instant and free user research albeit totally unorganized feedback.
Its true we wont know what the final version is, but tooling up a bumper like that costs tens of thousands of dollars (actually, its probably hundreds of thousands) and why would they build a huge sliding mold like that if it were just for a one or two-off prototype or concept?
I came on here and gave my opinion because I am seriously interested in the new c7 and ever since I saw the stingray concept have been planning to buy the new one. I owned and club raced my '04 c5z06 and 'll trade my '08 M3 (which I bought by default because the new c6 was a failure in my opinion, inside and out) in on a new c7 - that is, if they dont "f" it up, which based on the recent pics, they've done pretty badly.
If we wanted a GTR or Camaro look alike we'd buy one - I dont know how successful the Camaro is for GM, and I personally think that "Transformersesque" design philosophy works for it and its audience, but when someone buys a $60-100K car, they want some exclusivity and pulling design cues from less interesting and unique cars is flat out a mistake. I know all about brand identity, recognition and evolution, but they've evolved the wrong way. Dont make it worse by continuing the evolution and design patterns into the Corvette.
Just my $0.02!

Ok , I am the guy that has the crush on Kate Beckinsale. Now how does one capture her incredibly sensual and almost perfect curves on a computer generated drawing like Jalopnik. You can't . Now how about Omega Tool creating a " breast mold " and a " butt mold " for Kate. It can never work that way. You have to see the real deal in the flesh. So when you see the 2014 Corvette in a show or better yet, blow by you on the road , that is when it will all come together.

Why not a new thread instead of this 2 year old one? I like the body kit a lot, but I would never spend that type of money to upgrade a car with older technology as the underpinnings. Most of us would just get a C7. I did.

This was designed for the C6 as well as the C7. We did contemplate skipping the C6 conversion all together, but at the end of the day, there a plenty of people who love their C6 and have a lot of money into the performance upgrades, which they are not willing to give up. This is a limited edition, much more aggressive Supervette. Night and day to the C7. Ie; 81" wide vs. 73.9", 100% Carbon Fiber Body vs. Plastic Panels, Forged wheels vs casted alloys, etc.
With that said, we will also be offering a more affordable "SV7" which will look identical to the C7Z06, but 3" wider.

Gotta love threads that come back from the dead after a year and a half and long after their relevancy has faded into obscurity.....

Nothing like rehashing a dead thread with a dead link.

I actually really enjoyed reading this thread, well at least the first 7 pages, then it got boring.
Think about this, if you go to the beginning of the thread and replace all the references to C7 with either Mid-engine (ME) and/or C8, then compare it to the newer threads in the C8 section, look at how similar they are (in some cases almost identical). Of course you'd have to replace the specific reference to jalopnik with one of the rags like Car & Driver or Motor Trend etc. However the similarities are, in my opinion, amazing. Folks still speculating, referring to "insider" information, stating the new car looks awful when they haven't seen the actual car or anything close to it.
I especially liked the references to the four round tail lights on the C7!

That is the silliest thing I ever heard next to the idea that the new C7 will not have round taillights. Almost as silly as the Cubs winning the world series in the near future.

I'd never seen this thread before.
I think it's remarkable that Jalopnik had the actual design 99% nailed on 11/14/11 and p. 2 of this thread.
