Way back when it was announced that the new GT2 entry would be based on the ZR1, someone from P&M commented on the advances that GM has made in joining; this enabled a steel roll bar and cage to be attached to the aluminum chassis. I wasn't sharp enough to pick up on the real impact of GM's joining technology. Have to go look at recent patents and see what GM has submitted. Apparently this joining technology is the next big, sure weight reduction advance we're going to see.
