Default New concept future corvette!

Check this out!!!

http://automotiverhythms.com/artvtub...ng-Ray-Concept

Its a little BOLD but, it does bring a LOT of the old school CORVETTE into one car.

I cant see GM putting a split window on a new car. That was eliminated because people didn't like the back window occluded.

They unvailed it at the NCM for the 15th Anniversary and the Corvette Caravan. I was at the museum a week later and they were just setting up a photo shoot with it and the older concept cars including the Mako's.

I was able to get a few pic's.

I hope the powers to be remember we like "Sports Cars" and not necessairly a 'large' high performance car. That thing definitely has the Hollywood influence. I can't find myself saying too many good things about it other that it is definitely "different".

Could be a really great design - good "start" - I would lose the gimmicky headlights and go back to pop-up headlights and the center-back-mid-rear could really be improved. Of course you have to picture it with a big ugly Texas front license plate velcroed to the front grill!

Remember it is a Concept car only. Remember these concepts.

Althought none of these every made it to prductions, milder versions did.

Definitely not a bad start as far as concept cars go.

Does air really "flow" thru the scoops in the front all the way to the back?

Is it supposed to? Where did you get the idea that it might? Rjunning air through the door area would be hard.

As long as it does not look like a Camaro, which is better known as the "loaf of bread on wheels".

Ugh... if I have to look at this ugly concept one more time, I might puke. It sucks, it's NOT the C7, but if it is I won't be getting one.

Pop-up headlights wont be back. The EU has banned them and since GM wants to sell Corvettes in Europe they wont have them either.

If that is the case, I wonder what their reasoning for this was? (Not that any government agency actually employs reason in any of their decisions). Why would anyone complain about the headlight bulbs not showing in the daytime unless they have a law that says headlights must always be on?

Guess we could go to eyelids like BMW http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTYiEkQYhWY

It looks like something from a Saturday morning cartoon.

I don't know what the EU's reason was but I don't have a hard time imagining that manufacturers shed a tear. Popup headlights have always been a source of warranty headaches.

The EU also has some ridiculous pedestrian impact laws that I'm sure the Corvette doesn't meet because they require a car to have a tall, blunt front end and a high hood with space between the hood and the engine. These requirements make just about every car that meets them ugly as sin. How is GM getting around that one in the EU?
