Default projected year of the c7??

I'm looking into getting a c6 and wanted to know how long I had before the c6 is considered absolete? TIA.

According to a lot of internet lore, the world will end in 2012...probably due to the first C7 powertrain being unleashed upon mankind.

I thought I read around 2013, but I don't think it's set in stone anywhere.

I heard a similar rumor. 2012 no later than 2013. Who knows. Maybe an introduction in 2012 as a 2013 Model Year.

Well I will share this; at the ALMS races in Monterey 10/09/09 Tadge Juechter told everyone that the C7 was being worked on but it would not be until after 2012 at the earliest and he also ask those assembled in the Corvette Corral “How many would buy a V6 Corvette?” I might have seen one hand go up but I suspect he was stretching so he could reach around his plump body to scratch his ass (I could be wrong) the point is: I walked away wondering why would the question even come up? I know it was not a real focus group or a scientific survey by any stretch of the imagination but given everyone was a Corvette owner I couldn’t help but wonder if this is something that at least is on the drawing board.

I wonder how many hands would have gone up if he'd said a V10...

Judging by the large number of "enhanced" vettes in the corral that day I would guess a lot.

What ever the target it is, add a year to it. GM is historically late on the vette by a year (or more) for new model releases. All the way back to the C2...

H*ll, the C6 was originally supposed to come out in 2003 for the 50th anniversary.

GM has already announced that it will be out in 2012 as a 2013.

The sooner we get GM sold back to the real public and this congress is removed the faster a new model that we are willing to buy will be out.

you know what the real positive of all this was?

the major focus on quality now going on at GM

even on the honda boards GM cars aren't trash talked like they were 10 years ago

I'm hearing rumors that the C7 may possibly be introduced in 2012. I'm looking at purchasing a new Vette next year but don't want to do this if I can wait another 1 - 2 years for the C7. I'm so looking forward to driving a Vette again as I do really miss driving a sports car... sold my '93 Vette back in '00.

There is NO funding for the R&D work needed. Pay attention to the V6 in Camaro and Caddy.

I keep hearing the C7 will have a "split rear window". I just can't believe that will happen.
