5.7L DOHC 4 valve/cyl DIrect injection and Variable valve timing

550 hp @ 7200 rpm 8000 rpm redline.

Lighter weight, engine moved back further and steep rear gearing to make up for low rpm torque.

It will be a rocket.

This is what i think it will be, not necessarily what i would want:

2014 model released early 2013 (GM is always 1 year behind on releasing a new C versus what the plan was...look at the history all the way back to the C1)

Base Coupe and Convert:

5.5L V8 with direct injection, 475Hp @ 7000 rpm, 7500 redline, 440 torque at 2800 RPM

Steel frame

6-speed manual or Automatic

Carbon fiber hood, fender panels.
coilovers, MRC shocks. leaf springs are gone.
speed-activated or manually-activated/retracted rear spoiler.

Multi-colored Dual HUD / retractable displays, and will include
Climate Control, backup camera and turn by turn navigation pages for passenger and driver to see/control (options).

Heated and Cooled/Ventilated seats (option).

Recaro seats / suede inserts (option).

Fold flat / fold up rear partition for fully enclosed rear hatch area when cargo shade is in use.

3250 lbs.

0-60 in 3.85, Top speed 192.

Price: $49,995 for a base 1LT coupe.

ZR1 hardtop (1-2 years out)
5.5L V8 Supercharged with direct injection, 660Hp @ 7000 rpm, 7500 redline
6-speed manual OR Automatic
Carbon fiber BODY except rear/front fascias.
coilovers, MRC shocks. leaf springs are gone.

Aluminum frame

Recaro seats / suede inserts (std).

3000 lbs.

0-60 in 3.3, Top speed 209.

Price: 119K base, 135K for a 3ZR equiv.

No Z06. GM will use the same block and heads on the 5.5L motor to reduce development and inventory costs. I expect this 5.5L is going to be used in any V-8 application much like the Nissan Maxima V6 is so widely used.

Don't forget, GM has a lot of money to payback to the taxpayers.

Sticker and wheel pkgs galore every year for special editions.

Most of what you said sounds about right to me. I think that the base engine will be 5.5 liters as well, but I think that your output numbers are a little optimistic. I see it having slightly less hp and definitely less torque at a higher rpms. Maybe 450 hp @ 7000 rpm, and 375 ft/lb torque at 4000 rpm. Also, 3250 lbs would be a disappointment. C6 curb weight is under 3200 lbs, so the C7 needs to be even lighter. I'm going to say slightly under 3000 lbs.
