Vengeance, lmr, katech best gm performance shop?
I am shopping for best performance shop for my 2019 C7 Grandsport. Looking to boost this vehicle.
Goal 650-700 rwhp ... I like the new Magnuson 2650 but i am open to other recommendations...Procharger, ECS...
or stay naturally aspirated.... Budget $20K Daily driver, some road racing.

I would look at Vengeance, they have done a bunch of 2650s Maggie Heartbreakers and have the second fastest Gen6 Camaro in the country at 8.48@163 the other is also a 2650 Camaro at 8.40@163 which is on the West Coast, both car are around 4000 lbs with driver. I think they are one of the best in the country and they have a great reputation.

Feel free to give us a call to discuss this, we could easily hit your power goals with plenty of change left over for track events.

Don't forget cordes and race proven motorsports. For what your looking for any of those shops are good. I believe katech just switched ownership, not sure if that matters or not. For what its worth LMR and Cordes would be my go tos

To answer OP's question without being biased, go with the most reputable shop that is most convenient for you. We would love to have you as a customer, and I would personally oversee your build as it runs through our shops processes. Feel free to reach out to Mike (above) or myself if you have any questions about our packages or warranty policies.
Your horsepower goals are pretty "toasty" for the stock bottom end LT1 as long as the dyno is calibrated correctly. I do not think it would last at that power level if you plan on heavily road racing the vehicle. You would have a better chance at surviving if it was a true street car that sees some action from a roll every now and then.

Zach said it the best and he was not biased to his own company. I think that is a stand up statement, he did say he'd like to have your business which is what he should say. They would all like to have your business so you have good choices and I think all these reputable performance shops mentioned have had 2650 Maggie's in their bays for installation and tuning.

I am in the same situation - I live in St Louis, MO and was logging on here just now to ask if anyone knows of/had a good experience with a good shop in my area. I have a full build done: 2.9 whipple, stage 2 heads, full cam kit with everything , upper 3.75 & lower pulley 18%, interchiller system, upgraded HX, NW 112 TB, 5” cold intake, full secondary port injection kit with full E85, 1200hp clutch, 1400 hp axels, headers & no cat x pipe / straight piped, MGW shifter. The car has about 22,000 miles on it
The shop that did my car (out of state) is a mess and I now have to send it somewhere to fix the BS tune, swap to a Holley Dominator, put the right pulley on, tweak a few other things among making sure nothing else is scary underneath what you can't see when you pop the hood.
My brother lives in AZ so I have considered Cordes but the shipping back and forth is pricey... but at least I could go visit and have some fun out there on my car. LMR was the other one I was considering but again the shipping....Not that its a deciding factor as I have already put 40K+ into the car and plan to keep it forever, and at this point would gladly pay that (shipping cost) to have a working car and last summer back - just don't want to make the wrong decision AGAIN as it was the biggest nightmare ever and I still am sitting here dealing with it
Katech is drivable and that's who I should have done the original build with - was planning on reaching out to them too. Would love to find a local shop to do the minor work and have a known shop do a remote tune and work with me to get the car dialed in right, that is what I was hoping to find on here. Any feedback would be great!
Thanks

I race at Gateway all the time in St Louis. Not sure which shop your talking about but CBI Race Cars is a great option. I know Chad very well and many of his customers. He's done several Maggie 2650s and I actually had a guy from Kentucky come over and get his 2650 done with Chad.

Years back, I felt like there were many more “turnkey package” options to choose from. With the C6Z cars, every shop offered something (like Katech’s street attack or track attack package, Lingenfelter offered a similar heads/cam package, as did RPM, etc.). You don’t see this as much with the C7 and I’ve often wondered why. Is the LT1 too difficult/expensive to mod for N/A power? It seems like most go the supercharger route, and I assume it’s just the cheapest/easiest path to big power. The N/A 427 package that I’ve seen offered by a few shops really speaks to me, but not at $25K or whatever crazy price point they’re offered at. I’m not against going the supercharger route, but I’ve always been drawn to N/A power packages from reputable shops. Maybe I should have bought a C6Z as opposed to a C7!

Last track day I was running with a Katech prepared Grand Sport at Sebring. It was normally aspirated and very fast. Supercharging creates a lot of weight and heat issues on a road course. With the right block and built motor I believe the Grand Sport could easily produce lower lap times than a C7 Z06, especially in warm weather. Really depends on what your ratio of street use to track use will be. Good luck with your build.
