Default What's it worth?

I'm sitting down and doing the math on selling my '14 and buying a GS versus doing a wide body and leaving the car as is with the supercharger and meth.

2014 2LT
MRC
NPP
Black Carbon Mirror/Spoiler
Arctic White/Adrenaline Red interior
Black wheels
New PSS's with probably 1500 miles on it
ECS Super Charger w/ meth 643rwhp with safe tune from Dr. Phil.
Manual Trans

28,000 miles

Interior is perfect, always well cared for. Exterior is what you'd expect from a 28,000 mile DD car. Always hand washed and I've had it professionally detailed and coated every spring.

I thought about taking the SC off the car and selling it stock but the cost to remove/move to new car I think I'd rather make it easy and just sell it as is and buy another SC/Meth kit.

Probably like to get mid to high 40's for it.

I got an offer of 46k with a similiar vette with similiar mods. Also getting $3800 tax credit on the new car so its like getting 50k. Mine is a 1lt with ecs, headers, exhaust, rims custom hood and diffuser but only 5k miles. I'm in chicagoland

So there is another consideration.

1. I only have a 15K balance
2. I am doing a wide body

So I have to buy a wide body, figure 9K on the conservative side. Wheels/Tires even if I buy a set of take offs from a new Z06/GS I'm at 3K. Then do Z06 brakes another $1500 by the time your done.

So I'm spending at least 14K to get the car the way I want it.

New GS with tax after discounts figure around 67K. I get 45k for mine, costs me 6K to replace the parts I leave on it.

30K Cash to me, 24K to put down on a new car. That's 43K and probably a 0 percent deal.

That's about 10K more if I look at the raw numbers but no cash out of hand and a small bump in the payment I already have. Plus none of the hassle of sourcing the parts, doing the work, etc...

Worth 10K to me especially since its a 0 dollar transaction in terms of immediate cash.

that's the part you need to focus on. i'd bet you may get $40k for it (leaving SC on it) given it has 28k miles..

all the rest is a given... good luck.

I agree with aboves. The market is very tough right now especially for a 14 with 28k. Mid to upper 40's is too optimistic. Re-do the math with 40-45k banking on 40k.

Thanks.

40K starts to make less sense. Interior is perfect and after I do the wide body the exterior will be also.

I have considered the fact also that my car has been completely problem free. It is quiet, the roof is quiet, no squeaks and rattles.

Plus I did forget I did a complete sound deadening to the interior which would have to be redone adding another $1400 to the cost.

I don't put any value in the fact I'd have a '17 vs a '14. The only real improvement has been the infotainment system, and that is only from a speed not functional standpoint.

I see people asking a lot more on the forum but I wonder what they actually get?

You can get $50k-52k with with SC and tunes on it. Is it a Z51? I think you can reasonably sell it stock for around $43k-45k so with the mods and everything, I don't think $50k is out of reach. Lots of forum members are asking for higher, I think I saw one in the 60's for just a supercharger and tune after trying to include tax as an investment on the car. Obviously no one in their right mind would ever pay that but $50-52kk is definitely reasonable.

50-52k for a 14 Non-Z51 coupe with 28,000 miles?? But you don't think a 15 Z51 convertible with only 6,000 miles isn't worth high 50's?

The intellectual words of wisdom from a guy that doesn't even have a corvette and never had a corvette!!!! Go back to the Prius forum please troll!

There were quite a bit of improvements to the interior in 2016...
- Front Cameras
- Rear Hatch Cinch
- Infotainment Speed and Apply CarPlay/Android Auto
This seems like little stuff on the surface but I use all of it. Plus I heard the touch screen responsiveness is much better. It will get better most years I bet.

If you have the auto there is the A8. If you have an M7, I believe there are cooling improvements for 2017. And you can absolutely bet there are tweaks here and there in 3 model years that aren't published.

2014 vs 2017 resale huge difference. Just wait until 2021 and you are 4 vs 7 years.

Finally, Forum is a good place for feedback but a sh!tty place to sell a car. Buyers are too knowledgeable. Try to sell it local and put on other sites. Ultimately you will get what the market will bear but are in a better position if you find someone that wants it and doesn't know as much about the market. Godspeed.

If you're referring to my other post about your car, I said I'd add $3k to the numbers given by CBodnar, which were:
Low: $48k or below
Middle: $50k-$56k
High: $59k+

Where's the discrepancy? I assumed this OP had Z51 so $50-52k is fair for that with mods if he wants a quick sale. Yours was a year newer and had less miles so if you add $3k to the "middle" numbers, that's $53k-59k. Calling me names won't make your car worth any more. There's a 14 M7 2LT Z51 for sale right now posted for $55k in the forums with more miles than yours but more horsepower as well: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-for-sale.html

There's also a 3LT Z51 posted with similar miles as yours. 3LT is worth about as much as convertible for MSRP and resale as well, and it's listed for $50k: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ck-loaded.html . Your mods are only worth what they are in parts, especially since they were mods that you can DIY in your own garage and then tune it with a hand-held tuner.

I stand by my numbers of $53k-59k for your car. As for me not owning a Corvette, that's the reason I am in this forum, because I'm looking for one. You don't need to own a Corvette to be able to tell what it's worth. No use reducing this to ad hominem attacks or getting mad because your car isn't worth what you think it's worth. If I remember correctly, you tried posting for $65k.

It is a Z51.

Most of the year to year improvements were done on the none-Z51 cars actually because the suspension was too soft on '14's.

It'll come with a brand new steering wheel

I'm taking my Caravaggio wheel to the new car. Have a NIB flat bottom Z06 wheel already.

If you're serious about selling, I don't mind taking a look if you're seriously looking in the mid 40's range.
