Why not ask CarMax?

Carmax would probably offer you $78k. You should be able to get at least $80K here.

I actually got better offers from CARMAX than what dealers offered for a trade in. And I don't like negotiating a deal on a car by trying to get a lot for a trade-in, either. They raise one to raise the other to make you feel good, and play games. I'd rather walk in without a trade if I'm negotiating a deal.

I have had reasonably good luck a couple of times with CarMax on non-Vettes, but I did a CarMax search recently and found only one Z06 listed in my general area so my guess is they would likely be interested. If you are thinking of a trade in, the best way I have found to use CarMax is to get a valuation before you go to another dealer for a trade-in valuation. I worked for a BMW dealer for about 8 years and if we offered a low trade in value, we would always match CarMax if it was higher. At the end of the day CarMax is providing a wholesale price because it is their business to buy it wholesale (there are tons of Z06s showing up in auction listings which they use as a guide for their offer) and sell it for a profit, usually a few thousand dollars. But they are a quick and sure way to sell, as they give you a written quote good for 7 days. Worst case going to CarMax is you get an accurate wholesale price point for the car.--Bob

They need to make money so they won't buy it for A good price.

On newer, more expensive cars, sometimes CarMax offers aren't as bad compared to private party. That being said, I do not know pricing for Z06s, but a quick search through auctions shows a 2015 Chevrolet CORVETTE Z06 3LZ with under 1,000 miles (1G1YT2D65F5603390) that can be purchased for $78,000. So I am guessing, if your options are similar, they would offer less than that?
It only takes about 1 hour tops to get a price from them, so easiest to just take it there

Lack of hassle and take a few thou less for convenience, worth it everyones different (esp if youre not trading it in just selling it to them on the spot!)
Bring it by Carmax and see, only way to find out if youre serious
Dont know about you but when Im done with a car Im DONE, gotsta get the next one and time is money. Selling is a ROYAL pain in the rear
