The Lady Is Back ! Detroit pics. (or what a few inches of width can do) DIALUP BEWARE
Many here know about my dislike for the C6 styling - but I was simply AMAZED at the improvement by the new Z06s increased width front & rear.
and "The Lady Is Back". The hourglass shape of a fine lady is now evident due to the widening. The Corvette has sexy lines again similar to Corvettes in the past:
the headlights now appear to be a little little more inboard (solely due to the widening of the front fenders) and not as much as a distraction. They don't consume the entire fronts view anymore:
And the wider rear tires... Hot Damn they look mean and seriously up to the task:
view of caliper:
LS7 enging block:
I am really impressed with the change in overall looks that the Z06 has brought upon the coupe.
AND, whoever swore:
the 2006 Z06 will have at least the front bumper made from Carbon Fibre... You can doubt all you like, but I know they are being made. Maybe GM are going to use them as wall decorations... Dont really want to jeopodise their business but they are starting manufacturing so it must have been tested and approved by GM... maybe they have support behind it to pass the impact test... who knows? I am just a messenger...Stop being a tosser... you make me laugh ...all this bashing is starting to hurt. Maybe I will keep my inside knowledge to myself next time. All I can say is that I know the company that is moulding these and they are starting production... Take it or leave it.
was DEAD WRONG. Asked Dave Hill myself and they are not carbon fiber.[/i]

I remember that carbon fiber thread
Great pics! I agree with your evaluation of the curves which you can really see in the video you posted.
Good web site on the frost king. Just got my 68 seats back, and I am trying that out this weekend

We were there today, and I have to agree, I am impressed as well. Probably the minority though, from what I've heard most think opposite. I'm curious how GM will manage to get people to buy/lease this car. There's going to have to be some very inventive calculations to make this attractive enough for most to consider financially.

BTW, noticed something that I had never heard about - all 4 fenderwells have outward extensions. You can see one in this pic (black piece protruding from fenderwell - bottom center of pic):

I couldn't get any specific info from the show. It's obvious there is no oil pan on that block. I'm thinking the two holes directly below the starters right hand edge are the oil in/out ports.

Mike, I'm with you on this one. The C6 doesn't do anything for me.... kinda looks like it's wearing a gurdle or it's anarexic.
The extra flaring of the fenders and larger tires is a huge improvement.... the Z06 looks much healthier.

Thank you for the pictures!!
Do you happen to have any shots that show what the collector on that exhaust manifold looks like, maybe a shot looking upward at it? I am wondering if it is 4 seperate ports at the collector still, 2 ports or if it is fully combined into one strange shaped port.
