I am at 7000ft above sea level. That doesnt help too much. Only had my car to the track two times. Everyone else here in Colorado runs high 12's to low 13's with their SC cars. I ran a 12.0x. Plus I wont do a 6000rpm launch. I dont want to destroy parts.
I was just hoping for a better meaner look on the Z06. It has some great stuff. I mean the 427CI 500HP, brakes, frame, etc are all awesome!!!
But the LOOKS
Wanted so much more aggressive. Oh well, after market body kits are made for that reason.

Once you see it in person, with its wide fender flares, huge meaty tires and more squared off mouth, I'm sure you'll change your tune. Even a Viper looks kind of boring in pics. Most photographers don't seem to know how to take pics of cars. They pick colors and angles that hide lines and give you a flat, boring perspective. In person, that's where you can really see the beauty of a car.

Here's a perfect example of what I'm talking about, just look at this pic of the C6 Z06:
Unless you know what you are looking for, a regular person that doesn't know too much about vettes wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the regular C6 and this C6 Z06 pic except for maybe the brake ducts. Its a terrible pic to showcase the all new C6 Z06.

And who really cares if a regular person can tell the difference....
I'm not buyng the car to impress others, I'm buying because of what I see in it...

They will know its a corvette in as you say a millisecond, but not a ZO6 unless they have the correct angle on the car. From the side it looks just like a C6 except that tiny stuck on brake duct.

I know that a few here like FFCobra, have driven Z06's on a road course and THEY know what these cars are all about. The Z is not for a poser, who should consider a C-6 coupe and then mod it for more power! The Z is for the guy that wants to mix it up on a track with Vipers, TT Porsches, Ferrari's and such!

Sounds like this group's gettin' pretty high and mighty...
Maybe I don't qualify for a Z06...
You guys must have some RICH friends. The vast marjority of the cars you mention I've seen on tracks, and they're all track days...no mixing it up...no real racing - track days.
I myself do track days. No way I'd race my vette, I, like many, could not afford the risk of doing so.
The amature RACERS I see are all in quite unattractive spec racers, miatas, RX7s, I've seen an old audi...
If you guys are buying your $50k+ car and really RACING it, you're in a different income bracket than many.
