Look at the bright side - you caught it before you dropped a valve and ruined the motor.

What list would you like to be added to? The "I didn't drop a valve" list?

That's the one you want to be on. Get the heads worked, and be done with it.

Good catch!

Those are shot

Are you saying the motor was quiet when you left the car with the dealer? What service was done to it?

Sucks that you are out of warranty ...............

"warranty, warranty, warranty" So what! A good reason to spend ~5k on a nice cam and heads combo, you'll love your Z even more than you thought was possible

Too bad.

Do some calling around and PM a few people in here and that information which you get should go a long way toward getting you on the road to getting this matter properly and effectively taken care of.

We rework lots of CF member LS7 heads.
We use a hardened PM guide and a hollow Ferrea exhaust valve in our head rework packages. They start at just $1,228 (plus return shipping). We even have core sets of Reworked LS7 heads ready to go in case you dont want any down time (we do require a refundable core deposit for the core set).
We firmly stand behind all our reworked LS7 heads.
PM, Email or give us a call
310-326-2399

p.s. we can also hook you up with a cam, head gaskets and some arp head bolts.

Interesting that the tech pointed out the exhaust valve to guide clearance when every valve guide is out of spec.

I am going to take a video of my z06s engine sound when at idle cold/hot starts and when driving...I hear a ticking sound but I thought it was normal which it might be. Just being fairly new to the car I want to get verification from the experts here.

BTW OP good catch man and hopefully you'll be back with no worries.
