C7 Z06, anybody?
Just wondering what you guys think of the new Z06 and if anyone here is planning on picking one up. I live in south florida and I missed the Barrett Jackson show in April where they had the C7 Z06. I have to see one in person to see if I like it or not.
Also have to see what they are going to be pricing them at.
give me your opinions of the car. Who's getting one?

Only if its below six figures...its heavy, super charged, removal roof or Vert..And far from "Z" origins..But its a Vette with 650/650...Heck yes I want one...

They look very nice but I can't afford one right now, probably not for a long time.
Fortunately, I REALLY like my 09--Cyber/Grey--3LZ--Z06
Just got the valve issue taken care of, so I am good to go for awhile.

looks great, gonna be an awesome performer...not sure if it will make me part with my cash.. been driving c6z for just under 9 years and it still does everything i want a vette to do...price will certainly be a big factor for me... have to see the value to make me purchase one..never saw that value with the zr1 over the z06 for my usage...not sure i will see it with the new z06..also have been through many "best one yet" new car releases and can wait till hype dies down.
i know everyone who does purchase will be getting one heck of a vette for sure..

How did you get the valve issue taken care of? under factory warranty or aftermarket warranty? I have an aftermarket warranty that Dennis Fitchner sold me that is good for another 3 years, but they will not take care of the "valve issue" unless I drop a valve. I called them and asked if I can bring the car into a local dealer and take care of that issue as a preventitive type thing instead of waiting for a disaster to happen. they told me that they could not do a preventitive fix.

I'm waiting to see what it's actually capable of and where the price ends up. Until then I won't be able to figure out if I think the increase in performance compared to my C6 Z06 is enough to justify my out of pocket cost to get into a new one after selling my current one.

The ZR1 looses about 100 HP after a few laps on a road course due to the supercharger heat pulling timing. How is the C7 Z06 going to be different? I don't know but my current car put more HP down that 550HPand weighs 3,000# not 3,500# ! The C7 will have to have one hell of a big after cooler to keep that from happening.
I am also concerned about the dry sump system after the way GM screwed up the last ones and I thought their fix sucked. They have purchased great dry sump system for their racing programs. Why can't they just copy them or ask for some outside help?
And, it is hard enough to clean round tail lights. How much fun is it going to take to clean the corners of the new lights?
So, I am going to wait and see the results on track.
Just my 1 cent.
Jim

I'm liking the C-7 more as time goes on. The Z-06 looks good in Crystal Red Tint Coat/Blk interior; What's not to like about 650hp stock.
The down sides are going to be limited availability likely the first year; Then that little "Rip Off" side sticker over invoice.
My local dealer claims they will get two, and while waiting this last spring for service on my Z-06; The friendly sales person talked me into putting my name on the future, we'll see.
I plain and simple like mine, don't like loosing money. Won't pay side stickers. Don't like the added weight. Don't understand why/like cylinder deactivation. Just another problem to go wrong, on an already mind boggling piece of modern technology. (If I were worried about mileage I would own a Prus, is that how it's spelled?)
PS My Z-06 "Supercharged" fender badges are on the way, courtesy of "Austin Barnett Designs." So there you have it, I'm keeping with my "Last Corvette."
PPS wish I were able to afford both...

I will most likely do the same thing I did with my C6 Z06, buy a 4 year old garage queen for half price with hardly any miles on it. Till then, keep tinkering with my 06.

I like the C7 Z06 and may end up with one down the road. I really like my 06Z and it's a heck of alot lighter than the C7 Z. Of course horsepower makes up for that. Low mileage used examples down the road may appeal to me. Same way I bought my 06, with 2,500 miles for about 1/2 price.

1st thing, Jim Painters 1 cent is Sooo right in his post. 2nd, i am constantly amazed the people who come up to me and ask me how i like my C7Z06!! I just look at them and smile. Iv got roughly 82000.00 in my 09 Z06. Katech #56. New heads and clutch. ALL work done by Katech.Headers/corsa/HREs/caravaggio seats/wheel/shifters..coilovers/halltech/ beautiful motor and underhood is like new. Katech splitter/rear spoiler/ michelins and so on and on. And we have the last 427s we will ever see in a vette. Im very blessed guy to own this machine. This Cyber Grey is stunning from any angle and a pleasure to drive road or track. I would have to put over 100k to get me a new C7Z06 the way i would want it. Because lets face it, most of us just cant leave a factory car alone!! I figure as long as some folks keep asking me how i like my C7Z06 ill keep what i got..

I will stick with my C6Z; hard to beat this car! The 7 will be nice, I'm sure, but not worth the money for me to switch. If I live long enough and the warrantee runs out, I'll do a little engine work and keep on running.
