Heres my story. Vette Gurus needed
So I haven't introduced myself yet because I was waiting till my project was finished but looks like my into will have to come early because I need the help.
So I bought a wrecked 2010 C6 Z06 from Copart a month ago for the purpose of pulling the motor and do a LS7 swap into my E46 M3. With little knowledge of the vette I was buying I knew the motor was running and it had rear end damage from the pictures but nothing else. When it arrived at my house and after looking it over I came to the conclusion that the Vette was fixable and was a financially better decision to fix the 50k car than build a 20k car. heres pic of arrival and then after pulling busted fiberglass oh btw **after it arrived I started it and it has 7300 miles**
So after deciding what i wanted to do i started buying parts to fix the Vette I bought suspension parts a new wheel and a rear fiberglass clip (my question is coming and its about the CV axle) but he's more pics
this is the suspension "set up" that I bought 2008
now the problem I am having at the moment that i need the gurus to help me on is the CV axle i purchased from chevy for a 2010 the splines are not going into the hub of the 2008 set up is this a different size? I know that they changed the trans from 08 to 2010 so the length of the CV axle is diff but the spline size too?? if so can I get the right hub in this set up or am I screwed
help a newbie out guys. and please no "If you don't know that then you shouldn't be doing this" type of answers I'm in it to win it at this point and comments like that will not help
Thanks guys and oh Greeting to everyone btw If anyone knows who this car belonged to I would love to know I bought it from the Richmond VA area

Melting Slicks
33 spline hubs
They went to 33 spline hubs in 2009. 2008 and earlier are 30 spline.

What D06 said. Splines changed in 09. Get a c5 axle or early c6 axle and you are good to go.

Race Director
The front hubs and the electronics also changed in 2009, so stay with 2008 and earlier compatible parts. Big project, best wishes.

another question: after disassembling the rear end and disconnection the electrical and then reconnecting the car doesn't want to start it keeps giving me a "no key fob detected" unless i put the fob in the slot it won't turn over is there an easy solution to this? it may be the fact everything is kinda hooked up and sitting behind the seat and something that should be grounded isn't but I'm not sure. hoping to get some help may be you guys know.
when i received the car it only had the second key fob with it how much is it to get another fob and have it programmed.
Thanks for the feed back guys I was hoping to have a completed project to show for my introduction but I guess an wary debut will work

Battery low in Fob?
An axle is $130, a new hub is much more than that, more of a pain to replace, and I'm pretty sure the electronics/etc won't bolt to the newer hub easily. Getting a new axle is the simplest easiest way.

Le Mans Master
I just bought a new fob with key for my 2008 (lost the other one). Wasn't cheap. Around $180 and I still haven't programmed it yet. Just needed a back-up key for now since I locked the other fob in the car more than once (first time, it was in my gym bag and I tossed it under the hatch).

Return the hub. Why would you replace the expensive harder to swap part when the axle is cheap and easy? C5 axles are stronger anyways and an upgrade to c6 cars. Just put a set of c5 axles in both sides and don't worry about them breaking.
