Help me choose - Black '11 or SSB '12?
Looking to buy one of these two: a black 2011 2LZ with chromes and 2700 miles or a Supersonic Blue 2012 2LZ with carbon fiber package, carbon hood, Nav, and aluminum wheels but it has 14,000 miles.
My favorite is the SSB because I love the color and it is a CPO but the '11 has a lot less miles. Both one owner, flawless CarFax, etc.
Is there any mechanical difference or advantage between the two model years other than options, miles, and color?
Or am I nuts even considering the LS7 at all? I've always wanted a C6Z and am willing to wait on the C7Z at least a year.

Black is not a color... it's a hobby
Regardless, check the heads and rebuild if needed (likely)... it's the cost of admission.
C7Z will be a ZR1, not a Z06 -- regardless of what they call it. Different animal. Not better, not worse, just different.

Get the '12 SSB while you wait for the '15Z. It has more miles but is still worth more cuz it's a '12 vs '11. Not sure if it matters to you but they also "upgraded" the seats. You'll be able to check off the SSB off ur bucket list and C6Z at the same time. My '08 is Machine silver which I love, but it wasn't my first choice. I wanted black or red but didn't find any avail during my 4 months of searching. In the end, no regrets about anything

No black...too much work non-stop

Black is a whole lotta work to keep clean so I do appreciate cheating with silver, but I think I could've done the same with red. Maybe my next car will be a pearl/metallic black so it won't be so much work to upkeep.

Will echo the above: I have a black Z06. Black is too much work. My future cars will be silver, gray, white, or red.
11K miles is low enough to not worry about overall wear, but high enough that some of the problems would have manifested.
I say get the SSB.

You have to be pumped every time you go into your garage - not thinking "what if".
That said, while a black vehicle is a ton of work to maintain, when clean....nothing like it for "presence" imho.

My C7 is black and I love it and I've had more black vehicles than any other color.
But - black is a ton of work! Yet nothing looks better when it's clean. It just doesn't stay that way for long!

After I sold my black 2001 Z06, I swore I would never have another black car. It is non stop detailing to get it to look good.
Then I found a great deal on a 2005 M3 that was black. When I sold that I again swore I would never again get a black car.
Get the SSB.

The black '11 is a beauty too though and the red calipers with chrome wheels is the same exterior as my C7. It's just that I've had so many black cars (including 3 '87 Buick GNs, a GNX, a ,97 SS Camaro, a ''98 Z/28, etc, etc, etc, -ALL black - and my '08 Silverado 2500 HD is also black)! and I really just do not enjoy the constant detailing anymore.
It's still a tough decision.

Black is a beautiful color....but only when freshly detailed. It's also HOT.....literally. Living in Texas causes you to think of that (at least it does me).
The SSB, you will find, will be two or three different colors, depending on light levels. The JetStream Blue it replaced is the same way.....
There were fewer SSB's built than black as well.

Having gone from an black 06 base model (avatar) to a SSB Z06, I can tell you, with experience, the black is a real pita. I'm not the perfectionist to dedicate all my free time to the maintenance black requires. SSB seems to stay clean for weeks on end and when it gets dusty, no one notices including me.
