My nt05's on the rear are about done. I'd like to get just a set of rear tires that will allow me to stay in the street tire class, 140 min treadwear rating. I was thinking of the nt05R's, but it looks like they don't meet the min treadwear. Is there a better tire for drag racing that will keep me in the street tire class than the nt05's?

The nt05's are listed as a 200 or 140 treadwear, but all the 19" sizes are 200 treadwear. Is there a softer compound used in some of the smaller sizes? I have a set of the c5z front wheels that I am gonna use for DR's, but going to those puts me up against race cars that I'm not competitive with.

Tire rack has some 2010 production on close out for $495, but I'm guessing these would be rock hard after sitting that long. I don't think I'm willing to pay $700/ tire for a little better traction than the nt05's. I also can't find a treadwear rating listed anywhere for those. Are they really rated 140? What kind of 60' have you done with these? Thanks for the help.

I have never used the Michelins I use drag radials.
The tires I listed have a tread wear of 80
