Default Do I change my heads or not......?

Like a lot of us I was torn on whether or not I should change my heads or roll the dice. I bought my 07 Z last winter with 19500 miles and no clue about the head issue. No way I was selling this car. Too much fun. But would it blow up on me like I had read? I started looking at what extended warranties would cost. Then I started contacting venders on this site for their input. I then found Kohle at American Heritage Performance. Best customer service out there. Told me his feelings on the head issue without laying it on hard. We discussed what I wanted to do with the car now and in the future etc. I decided to purchase his #4 package with PMG and hollow Ferrea valves. Cost, core terms it all worked. I got the heads quick. Had them installed. My tuner was amazed at the results he got out of the heads. (see Dyno sheet) I also have attached my wiggle test results. Not the worst, but I now just drive and enjoy my Z! I highly recommend Kohle and his company.

Given the car was no longer under warranty coverage, methinks you made an excellent decision. If not for my GMPP I'd have the heads rebuilt no questions asked.

A new or pre-owned LS7 is simply too expensive to replace due to something preventable.

American Heritage Performance Wiggle Test Results

#1 int****.0045"
#1 exh*** .0065"

#3 int*** .0055"
#3 exh*** .0065"

#5 int*** .005"
#5 exh*** .0065"

#7 int*** .004"
#7 exh*** .007"

#2 int*** .005"
#2 exh*** .006"

#4 int*** .0065"
#4 exh*** .005"

#6 int*** .0055"
#6 exh*** .006"

#8 int*** .005"
#8 exh*** .0055"*

All in all they are not bad results.* Due to the geometry the wiggle test results are amplified a bit.* If we were to dial bore the guide id's and mic the valve stems the numbers would more than likely be at max spec or just slighlty above max spec.
I copied and pasted from the doc for those that are lazy. You made a good call! More happy customers from AH!

Hello Mike, it was great doing business with you! Now go out and beat on that Z!!!
Your dyno graph looks great. Its very common for our Package #4 heads to pick up some power over the stock heads. Our valve job picks up a few CFM's (horse power) and the Ferrea F2042P valve tulip flows very well.
Thank you again for your business. If anyone has any questions regarding our LS7 head packages don't hesitate to shoot us a PM, email or phone call 310-326-2399

and as always we offer support as part of the sale!

Kohle, thank you again for the help on this matter. I hope more Forum Members give you a shot at their business. They will not be disappointed. You were a pleasure to work with.
