Default 2 months in the works...and she's back

Been a long time waiting for my Big Blue monster to come back. After all the hoopla with the needle bearings, wait time etc, I can say I'm happy.

No BS w/ the shop and No hard feelings.

The Z is a whole different animal with my heads/ cam. The car just wants to go and keep moving. Car made 561/508 on a dyno jet. I'm happy with what it put down especially with a "medium" sized cam. If I opted for a larger cam, my wife would've hated riding/driving in the Z.

Raced my built G8 Gt, which my wife was driving and the Z just mopped the floor with her. Car pulls hard and strong. The only thing the wife didn't like was the louder valve train noise coming into the cabin, as well as the stock muffler sound. She's wanting to get some new Axlebacks...
Now I just have to choose....Corsa..B&B...Borla? Decisions...Decisions.

Any recommendations with something very aggressive, but without the drone?? (NO Akras)

Looks promising and by far the cheapest priced I have seen.

Edit: on my phone so I don't know how to make it a hyperlink.

Congrats! My numbers 561/511 are nearly the same as yours with a TORQUER 110 and WCCH Stage II heads.

I do a lot of research before I make major purchases and I own quite a few very nice things that IMO were, after all my research, the PERFECT buy. BIG Billy Boat GENERATION III Fusion EXTREMES are one of those PERFECT buys. I have an off road x-pipe and while I really enjoy NASCAR loud exhaust notes (Believe me, I have one.) I would be screwed without the ability to turn down the volume for parking garages (rare) and police. (frequent)

The sound of my NASCAR loud Z06 is priceless and while I do not drive for long periods often on the freeway, I did yesterday on my way to divorce court. IMO there is no drone with the valves closed.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Thanks everyone. Ive been listeting to youtube vids for about 2 months now on different exhausts, but they do justice.. Corsa sounded like they were tic tavs hitting a frying pan when the cam was loping.. Bullets sounded too mellow, and Borla was in between. Heard LGs too, and they sounded like they were close to Borlas.

Anyone in the Chicagoland area willing to let me hear their cammed Z w/ the designated exhaust mentioned above?

Congrats! How does that cam drive compared to stock? Did you have the heads milled at all?

These are the specs right? 233/245 .652/.635 113+3

You can definitely tell that its not stock. It requires a little bit more gas to get her going. When my wife drove the car, she almost stalled the car. I told her itll be comletely different, but once she got used to it, she was rowing through gears like a champ. As far as the heads being milled, I believe they did, but im not 100% sure. I will ask today.

All I know I was playing with this during the morning commute to work. Little 40-75mph pulls. Didnt go triple digits since traffic was bottling up.

If drone/etc is an issue, stay stock. I haven't heard a single cammed/header aftermarket muffler car that wasn't stupid loud and annoying.

Haha, my wife hates my Z06. Like Unreal said, I doubt there's an exhaust out there that'll sound tame enough for your lady. Cam + headers = drone

I know you say no Akra's, but the option of having the valves closed helps a lot with the drone. Maybe B&B's for you then.

I love my ZR1 mufflers! Having both modes is crucial IMO

From the sound of it, B&B will be my only option. She also said "if we can get another car, you can make the Z as loud as you want"....LOL.. MMM nah...I think ill just spend 1k on axlebacks.

I have the B&B Fusions, custom grind medium cam, WCCH2 heads, headers, x pipe, etc.

With the valves closed, the car is loud. It's completely tolerable in the car while driving. BUT, at 65-70 MPH in 6th gear, there is a lot of drone.

With the valves open, the car is an angry loud beastly monster. It's tolerable driving around town. But it drones...a lot. At 65-70 MPH in 6th gear, you are asking for a headache.

But I like it

Congratulations man

We have almost the same setup. I did all the bolt ons and H/C. I also went with a moderate cam nothing too big but at the same time something worth while. You can definitely tell the car has been cam'd but at the same time it still has decent manners. Mine pulled 556/503 SAE.

I went with a 234/246 .612/.598 115 LSA

A bigger cam would have gotten you a little bit more power but in my opinion not worth it.

I had to put a set of drag radials on to take full adavntage of the powa!!!
