2013 Shelby GT500 737whp vs D1SC Z06 608whp both on pump gas
Just got call from a 2K13 Shelby GT500 owner and he asked me for a race, not interested anymore in street racing .. since it's been a while and I didn't race in my C6Z only in a legal events so it's not bad to be out of law for a night in a year so ill race that.
shelby moods are:
Jlt 127mm
ford racing 65mmtb
LT
10% lower pulley
2.4 Upper pulley
Idloer
tuned on Pump gas 98 octane.
car made 737whp.
at the same dyno I made 608 and I'll try my luck since it's a friendly race not sure if ill do it so I'll drive the car all the way to the dyno to check if everything is well, all have a chance to test the car before installing the new goodies.
anyone can suggest the results I'll be welcoming..
BTW it's will be high roll race.

Your going to lose. He makes 120 + WHP more then you, and from a High roll race your weight advantage wont even help much. Get ready to see some shelby Taillights .

had a good chance that I'll beat him cause when I was in my c5z I remember I raced a 610whp with my 550whp N/A I beat him by two cars.
remember the aerodynamic and the weight will not help him at all in high rolling race.

Big deal, its heavier it needs the extra hp. I think it will be close but it also seems a n/a 600 hp vette is quicker than a FI vette.....tough call

My money is on the Z as well. I ran a buddy of mine that has a 2010 Shelby turning 680 rwhp and we finished dead even from a dog and a 60 roll. I'm in a bone stock '09 Z!!! I was impressed with my car to say the least!!

Money is on the Z.. I just came from Shift S3ctor.. and the GT500's didnt do so well against some of the Z06's... Just a FYI I took my 680 RWHP GT500 so Im speaking from experience... I wish I would have taken my built Z instead..

Just talked to the tuner that tuned both cars he said its hard to tell but he'll but the money on the Z.

Lot's of differences between a 2010 GT500 and a 2013 GT500. To the OP, I think it will be a driver's race with a slight edge going to the GT500.

Just comes from work I'll have lunch then I'll be at the dyno to discuss whats will happen tonight also I wanna check if everything is fine

Whoever has better tires and can hook. It takes about 150rwhp to make up the difference between a Z and GT500. I've seen 500rwhp run dead even with 650rwhp gt500s. That being said, tires will determine the winner unless roll is high enough so they both have zero traction issues then I would say the Z would have the edge.
