Default Front tie rod needs replacing???

Car is 08...

Went to get wheels balanced and mechanic noted that passenger side wheel has very minor play when held at 9 and 3 and moved. They told me its a tie rod (its a wheel shop, so not real mechanics).

Ok, less than a year ago i had minor misshap and the tie rod was replaced... So y is it out again? Maybe it just needs to be tightened up? Its $100 for the part here in germany...

Having play in tie rods is not a good thing.

If it was my car, I would have an alignment specialist look at and get his opinion.

Good luck with it, 2k

This was the wheel alignment shop. Im in germany, so they r not familiar with vettes. Said some play in the tie rod. Im just curious if this play is due to it being not tightened up when i had it replaced a year ago.

Do you track the car at all? The heat from the brakes can destroy those things in no time flat.

Even the bump steer kits will have to have the ends replaced from time to time....it is for sure a wear item, more so now than ever that they got rid of the grease fitting on them.

I see that you are located in Cologne (Köln), that is not too far from Callaway Competition in Leingarten.
Here's the link with their contact data: http://www.callawaycars.de/index.php/contact-us
Good luck!
